This quarter I’ve taken lots of time for analysis and planning. Planning each week, month and quarter and evaluating my progress (and setbacks) is helping me to stay on track for my business goals and providing me with the ways to recognize success along the way.
I’ve added some structure to my planning with a monthly tracking sheet and review loosely based on a template I found in Canva. I’ve been tracking metrics including monthly sales, number of orders and average order value. But I am also tracking production related numbers, including the number of items sewn and sold each month.
Each month, I include notes of what has worked well and what hasn’t. And from a marketing perspective, I’m looking at the performance of my email marketing and social media work - because business isn’t built on follower numbers alone.
Tonight I’m excited to be taking part in a discussion with Manitoba Entrepreneurial Hubs about planning. The Hubs is such a neat organization that brings entrepreneurs together for learning and sharing.
Small business owners - do you have any fun planning tips that have worked well for you? And I’m always open to sharing tips with others, too. It’s fun to learn and grow together!
