We found this incredible photo tucked away in one of our archival boxes. While we’re not certain if it’s directly connected to an info booth set up at an MCF of the past, or one of the many other events organized by Craft NB (formerly named the New Brunswick Craft Council), it’s an amazing snapshot of our past. We love the umbrellas and sun chairs, such a kind touch to an inviting booth set up.

✨ Reminder: Today is the last day to apply for a booth in the 2026 Mactaquac Craft Festival’s Artisan Vendor Village. Join us Labour Day Weekend (Sept 4–6, 2026) at the York Centennial Site in Mactaquac Provincial Park for this beloved celebration of craft.

These first few days of March weather are giving subtle indications that spring is inching its way towards us.

Weather is a big factor for our outdoor festival, the vendors and festival goers have braved many conditions over the years, but when we get that late summer - perfect sunshine, MCF thrives. Small clues that this newspaper clipping is dated in the late 70's range, maybe early 80's. As we continue planning for 2026 we want to remind everyone that our deadline for the Artisan Vendor Village has been moved to March 15th! Link Below ⬇

Today's throwback we have the group photo from the 1982 Mactaquac Craft Festival 📸

From the chessboard and handcrafted pottery, to the stained glass and more, it’s remarkable to see what once filled the Artisan Vendor Village more than 40 years ago. These glimpses into the past make us even more excited for 2026 and the incredible handmade, one-of-a-kind creations that will once again fill the York Centennial Site in Mactaquac Provincial Park from September 4–6 this year.

As we dive into planning for the 2026 Mactaquac Craft Festival, we keep finding ourselves pulled back in time. This festival has been held so closely by the community over the years, and that magic hasn’t faded one bit. It’s still right there with us as we dream up what 2026 will become.

Which brings us to this photo… 📸
Can you help us date it? Do you spot a friend, a loved one — or maybe even yourself?

If you have any old photos from past MCF's tucked away, we would absolutely love to see them. These memories help tell the story of what makes this festival so special. Send your photos (and any stories you’d like to share!) to [email protected]
Let’s keep the magic going — together. ✨

Apportez quelque chose d’unique !
