Locked in the Kennel is open to businesses and residents in the RMWB. Last year, we were able to successfully raise over $46,000 for the animals in our care. This year, our goal is $55,000! Participants can start fundraising prior to the event, or the day of. Donation dollars toward your impound fee can be raised by sharing with your customers, supporters, or coworkers. Any bit helps!
Most people don't know that the FMSPCA receives no financial support provincially or federally. We rely heavily on donors and fundraisers such as these to ensure we're sustainable.
If you're interested in signing up, here is how the event works! You can register for your online donation page that you can share. Feel free to get creative and write why you're participating and why you're supporting our cause. While onboarding, you can set your impound fee. Our poster lists a minimum of $800 for the impound fee but feel free to alter where you see fit. All money raised goes towards supporting the furry residents in our care.
On March 16th, you can set a timeframe to come into the shelter to be "impounded", this can range from a half hour up until close if you wish! This is a great opportunity to share with your network to show where their generosity is going. Participants also get the chance to hang with our canine residents, providing them with enrichment. You can also showcase them to potentially find them their fur-ever home.
We understand scheduling conflicts. Participants do not have to be locked up. However, if you still want to help our cause, we welcome you to set up a donation page to help our cause. I can also create a poster for you to share on your networks and with friends.
