Foremost and district fire fighters would like to first thank everyone for there ongoing support of the department. Our members are volunteers that are ready to drop what they are doing when the tones go off on the radio's. We serve a large area of the County of 40 mile as well as the village of Foremost, Alberta. We have a variety of tools of the trade such as
Jaws of life - used to cut various
objects
Dash ram - used for rolling dashes in M.V.A.'s
Air bags - used for lifting heavy objects
Cribbing - used for stabilizing heavy objects
Stabilization kit - used for stabilization of vehicles
K12 Saw - used to cut just about anything
Hooligan Bar - used to pry open doors
portable lighting - very bright and adjustable lighting
SCBA pro pack - breathing apparatus
Fire extinguishers - puts out small fires quickly
Pry axe - used to cut or pry
Vent fans - used to vent smoke from buildings
Generator - used to run power tools
Assorted hand tools - hand powered tools
Medical kit - over the top first aid kit
Stokes basket - used to move victims
Mule Wheel - goes on stokes basket
Brooms - used at grass fires
McLeod tool - used at grass fires
Chain saw - used for cutting various woods
Scuba fill station - holds water from awaiting trucks
piercing nozzle - goes inside wall and sprays water
Foam eductor - introduces foam to water
Winch - used for moving heavy or stuck objects
Portable pump - used for pumping water
Bunker gear - firefighter protection
This is just SOME of the tools that we are so lucky to have. Our vehicle fleet includes:
2 pumper trucks, one is set up for working in the village of Foremost, and the other is set up for structure fires and grass fires. This one has been dubbed "BIG RED". We also have a rescue unit witch carries a lot of the tools for in town and out of town calls as well as a rescue suburban, which carries extra air tanks and some tools as well.
