Dying Light Collective
“Anyone can do anything, if they want to.”
Life seems to be a series of caveats. But that’s what makes it manageable in a sense. Because we can plan and plan and plan, but the universe will continue moving forward. It neither hates, nor adores us. It simply exists, allowing us a place to exist. It gives exactly the same thing every day to everyone. It’s up to us to take co
ntrol of what we can exert control on, dream and create with those tools and always hope for the best, if we want to. But I believe that we all have a duty to do the best and most with what we have. And we have a lot, so let’s do everything. Now that might sound lofty but I guarantee that if we work hard, we listen, we speak, we learn and we teach that nothing is beyond our combined capabilities. I firmly believe that artistic expression, finely crafted and purposely created, in any genre will be our generations rally cry. We can show the world that we are not lost, and that we are a force to be reckoned with, by simply creating a way out of this world that we have been placed into. Through community and creation we can reignite the fires in our bellies. And build a home that cannot be broken by any buzzwords or momentary carefully crafted addiction. And with that idea I stand atop a stone at the base of a mountain, not with fist raised high in defiance, but with an open palm reaching to lift someone up with me. Together we can do anything, why wouldn’t you want to?
*You know more then you know*
Dying Light Collective is a group of like-minded people gathering together to create, collaborate and above all else learn and teach each other. We seek no particular base line talent, nor do we discriminate against experience. Those who think they know nothing are welcomed with open arms, as we believe that everyone has something to share with the group. Knowledge must be shared, and the only way is for you to come forward and learn. I guarantee you know more than you think you do. We operate on these simple principles. All as equally important.
• To do only good, and never at the expense of those who cannot consent. Always look at a project, and job, or activity and ask yourself, will this bring good to the world?
• Everyone has value. There is no expansion on this statement, there is no argument, there is no caveat. In one way or another everyone has value and deserves respect.
• No one can demand nor automatically earn your honor. That is for you alone to decide. Honor and value are very different.
• To unabashedly learn. In every situation, in every moment, learn.
• To always teach. If you know something, teach it to others. Through shared knowledge we are unstoppable.
• To love. Using compassion for ourselves and others will bridge our gaps. Cultural, political, and moral gaps can all be bridged with love. Have compassion that someone does something a certain way because it brings them happiness or they simply know no better way.
• Never feel constrained by space, materials or time. None of these things have meaning within the collective as we can always adapt to suit any situation. Anything can be accomplished.
*You dream the dreams, now build the builds.*
