Join us for the ECGS Concert Season Finale!
We are excited to feature local guitarist Trevor Sanders in our final concert of the ECGS season!
Trevor has been a dedicated teacher, adjudicator, and performer in Edmonton and throughout Alberta for over two decades. His work has shaped generations of musicians through his teaching at the Winspear Conservatory, the University of Alberta Augustana Campus, Concordia University of Edmonton, and other institutions across the province.

As an accomplished performer, Trevor has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in numerous concert series and broadcasts, and has been involved with many outstanding ensembles, including the Edmonton Guitar Trio and the University of Alberta Guitar Quartet.

Join us as we celebrate the close of another incredible season with one of Edmonton’s outstanding guitar artists. We look forward to sharing an evening of beautiful music together!

What an amazing weekend for the ECGS!
On Saturday, the ECGS Adult Orchestra travelled to Calgary to perform alongside the CCGS Guitar Orchestra at Christ Moravian Church for an afternoon filled with beautiful classical guitar ensemble music.
Over 35 guitarists came together in a wonderful collaboration under the direction of Renee Perez, Valentina Benvenuti, and Mandy Loban-Jordan. It was truly inspiring to see two orchestras unite through music and share such an unforgettable experience.
A heartfelt thank you to Mandy and all the members of the for this wonderful collaboration. The joy of seeing so many guitarists playing together is hard to put into words, and we are so grateful to have shared this special experience together!

What a wonderful evening celebrating the incredible talent of our young musicians! 🎶 It was such a pleasure to listen to these outstanding students and enjoy a concert filled with passion, dedication, and beautiful performances.

We are so thankful for the hard work and commitment of all the students, for the guidance and dedication of their teachers, and for the continuous encouragement and support of the parents who accompany them on this musical journey.

It was also a joy to celebrate the winners of the 2026 Lagrima Competition! Congratulations to all participants and performers for making this such a memorable evening full of talent and inspiration. ✨

The ECGS society is keeping a very full and exciting weekend!
This Sunday we are presenting a wonderful concert featuring some of the finest classical guitar students in the city. It will be a special opportunity to hear the next generation of young artists perform at a high level, sharing their dedication and passion for the instrument.
We would also like to sincerely thank all the amazing guitar teachers in our community for their continued hard work, guidance, and commitment to shaping these young musicians. This event would not be possible without your support and collaboration.
During the concert, we will also be announcing the winners of the 2026 Lagrima Competition.

Join us this Sunday, May 3rd at 4 PM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church for an exciting afternoon of music!
The ECGS Adult Guitar Orchestra, conducted by Renée Perez and Valentina Benvenuti, celebrates the end of another fantastic semester—one that has seen the ensemble grow in both size and musical ambition. This concert showcases their continued progress with a rich and challenging program.
Highlights include Villa-Lobos’ Choros No. 1 Bachiana Brasileira no. 5, alongside Ave Verum Corpus by Mozart and a wide variety of solo, duet, trio, and quartet performances. Experience the guitar in every possible ensemble setting!
The orchestra will also be joined by the ASA YEG Youth and Violin Orchestra, bringing together over 30 musicians for a powerful and dynamic collaboration.

Last week’s concert featuring GFA winner Leonela Alejandro was an absolute success! ✨
We are incredibly grateful to for sharing her artistry with us through both her stunning performance and inspiring masterclass. It was truly a memorable time spent together, filled with beautiful music and meaningful moments.
