Michael Soltis Art Michael Soltis is an American/Canadian contemporary artist living and working in his studio in Vancouver, BC.

Michael Soltis creates abstract works that challenge our preconceived notions of communication through type, line and shape. In his "Typography" and "Helvetica" series, he builds the composition of his works with letters and numbers without attaching their inherent meaning. The goal is that the viewer, conditioned to make sense of the letters and numbers to receive information, will experience them in a new way and create something new, completely unique to them.

The Art Department in Tsawwassen is an 1800 sq/ft open studio space featuring classes and workshops in various mediums including mixed media, painting, a full pottery/ceramics program and much more! Opening in September. I am very excited about this next chapter and incredibly grateful for the many people helping me make it happen.
