BONNIE AND THE BARE BONES
Bonnie and the Bare Bones were born from the creative spark between Jeremiah Staggs and Nicky Germann. Jeremiah, tired of being the local hired gun, was eager to find an outlet with more soul and camaraderie, while Nicky longed to sing in an environment fueled by a passion for truly feeling the music. Their search for like-minded musicians quickly led them to bassist Dustin Rogers, a local standout known for his work with The Goat River Men’s Choir. Dustin’s impressive bass skills and easygoing personality made him the perfect fit for the budding band.
With Jeremiah delivering bluesy yet driven guitar lines and Nicky showcasing her distinctive soulful vocals, the core of the group was set. However, finding the right drummer proved a challenge in their small town of Creston. After several names were suggested and dismissed, an unexpected opportunity arose: Doug Deyotte, an experienced drummer who had moved to the area in 2017, had been eager to collaborate with Nicky ever since he saw
her perform with her previous band,
*Flight*. His persistence paid off, and once he connected with Jeremiah and Nicky, The Bare Bones were officially formed.
The band’s name also has a story of its own. Nicky, originally from the UK, noted that anything cool or groovy in British slang is referred to as “bonnie.” Though she was initially hesitant to include her own name in the band title, she embraced the persona of “Bonnie” for the stage—bringing both coolness and groove to the group.
And so, *Bonnie and the Bare Bones* were born, uniting talent, soul, and a shared vision to create music that’s as heartfelt as it is unforgettable.

Summerset Fest is ending on a high note with Flight, a Creston-based rock band with deep roots and a powerful new sound. Originally formed in 1974 as an all-brothers band, Flight was revived in October 2023 by the last original brother, bringing together a fresh lineup and a new brotherhood of musicians.
Now, Flight is back and louder than ever, ready to deliver a high-energy set that blends classic rock soul with modern edge. The current lineup includes:

HILLAREE BLACKMORE - Solo Artist Vocal accompanied by Timmy Faulks on Guitar.
Hillaree Blackmore is a talented 13-year-old vocalist who studies under the direction of Velle Weitman. With a love for songwriting, drawing, and baking the perfect batch of brownies, Hillaree balances creativity with academic curiosity—her favorite subjects are math and
careers. She's also an avid reader, currently diving into Shadow and Bone and Short Straw Kids.
Hillaree has made her mark on stages across the region. She was a finalist in NEXT PLAY, Battle of the Bands, placed in Reach for the Mic, and has performed with both the Blossom Valley Singers and at the East Kootenay Performing Arts Festival. Most recently, she proudly represented Creston at the BC Performing Arts Provincials in Musical Theatre, where she delivered an outstanding performance.

At just 16 years old, Roslyn is already making waves in the local arts scene. A gifted vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, she’s a familiar face at community events and a standout performer in Creston’s theatre productions through both the highschool and footlighters.
Her dedication to musical theatre and natural stage presence recently earned her the honour of representing the East Kootenays at the 2024 BC Performing Arts Provincials—a testament to both her talent and hard work.
Whether she’s center stage or behind a microphone, Roslyn brings heart, skill, and passion to every performance.

LACHLAN HAMM - Solo Artist - Guitar and Vocal
Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Lachlan has called Creston home since 2020. His musical journey began at the age of five when he first picked up a guitar—and he hasn’t put it down since. Over the years, his passion for music has expanded to include piano, drums, bass, and songwriting.
Since the age of seven, Lachlan has performed in a variety of genres, both as a solo artist and as part of bands, taking on roles as an accompanist, lead musician, and featured performer. This past Spring, his talent and stage presence earned him 2nd place at the Next Play Battle of the Bands in Cranbrook—an impressive accomplishment for any artist, let alone one still in their early teens.
Now 13, Lachlan continues to play whenever and wherever he can, all while balancing his love for hockey, soccer, and the great outdoors.
