Thank you to the Creston Community Auditorium Society for continuing to make the Kootenay River Theatre such an amazing place to perform and create!

Forty-five years ago today.

On August 10, 1981, the Creston Community Auditorium Society was incorporated with one job: make sure this valley has a proper place to gather and perform. Four and a half decades on, the Kootenay River Theatre has held school concerts, touring shows, recitals, fundraisers, graduations and more opening nights than anyone has counted.

All of it was paid for by this community — one donation, one ticket, one volunteer shift at a time.

To mark 45 years, we're building an endowment fund: a permanent fund whose earnings will help keep the equipment current long after the next campaign ends.

The anniversary also marks the launch of our redesigned website. Visit crestonauditorium.ca to donate to the endowment fund or send us a message for more details.
