One small detail that can make a room feel so much more intentional.

Paint your picture ledge the same colour as your wall.

Colour drenching has been everywhere lately, and I love how it works on smaller details too. Instead of adding another contrasting colour, the ledge blends right in letting the art, books and objects take the attention.

That’s why our picture ledges are now available pre- primed and ready for you to paint in your wall colour.

Same wall, same colour. A much more seamless look.

I didn’t hate the black shades. I actually thought they worked pretty well when we first moved in.

But over time, with the black TV wall and shades already in place, I started noticing how heavy that whole side of the room felt.

I also still needed privacy, so simply getting rid of the shade wasn’t really an option.

The cafe curtains ended up being a small change that solved both problems. I could keep the privacy I needed without closing off the entire window or adding another big block of black.

And honestly, I think this is one of my favourite parts of decorating — sometimes the room doesn’t need a complete makeover. You just need to figure out what isn’t working and make one better decision.

Rustic Sunday is slowly becoming a few different things.

Rustic Sunday Decor — the things I make for the home.

Rustic Sunday Journal — where I write about decorating, making decisions, and figuring out what actually makes a home feel like yours.

Rustic Sunday Interiors — something new I’ve been quietly working toward. Helping people look at their own rooms a little differently and figure out what’s working, what isn’t, and what to do next.

Three parts, but really the same idea.

Thoughtful homes. Real homes. No starting over just because something isn’t perfect.

And, as usual, probably a few slightly overthought decisions along the way.
