Everyone meet Cedar, she’s almost 4 months old and learning all about this big world. First time running through daisy filled meadows. First time feeling a sandy beach and discovering the joy of digging. First time seeing the ocean and a little scared of the waves. First easy hike with a pack of big dogs and loving it all.

When my sweet girl Harley passed away near the end of March, I wasn’t sure when or if I was going to adopt another dog. We had such a special connection and I miss her every day. I cherish all the amazing memories we made together. Life is better with a dog, or at least my life is.

Cedar came into my life through some sort of cosmic magic it would seem. I can feel Harley’s spirit living on in some way only the universe knows. Cedar definitely has her own rambunctious personality, right now she’s a little furry crocodile. Big floppy ears and paws, testing out what she can and can’t get away with. I’m so excited to watch her grow up and learn and experience all the fun adventures we’ll have together. You’ll be seeing lots of her around these parts. 🐕

My sweet girl Harley has passed away peacefully, after a long battle with cancer. She was my favorite thing in this world. My trusted companion, my adventure partner and best friend.

We created so many amazing memories together. From exploring forests and rivers and lakes and beaches and mountain summits, she was always up for anything and loved it. Even in her last few weeks, when her back legs were failing and she was struggling a bit, she was strong and had that beautiful smile and the brightest eyes you’d ever see.

She was 10 years old and I’m thankful and grateful we got to spend 9 of my favorite years together. I would’ve given anything to have just 1 or 2 more with her. I miss her so much, I can hardly stand it.

I miss the way she’d snuggle up beside me on the couch and when it was time for sleep. I’ll miss those long drives, sun shining with the windows down and her hanging out catching all the scents, favorite songs playing and not a care in the world.

I find myself still reaching for her leash when leaving to go outside. She brought so much joy and life into my home and now there’s a tangible lack. She could be so silly, constantly cracking me up with her big personality. She brought a lot of happiness to everyone she met, always hopeful for a treat or some scratches. So many experiences we shared together, that otherwise wouldn’t have happened, or would’ve only been half as good.

She was the sweetest soul, we had a really special bond and I’ll miss her forever.
