🔴 Sold a few paintings at, and after, the Buckhorn Arts Festival!

I happily connected people with new art prints, made new friends, and shared my work with so many wonderful visitors at the Buckhorn Arts Festival. I sold "Jump In 2" to longtime collector Jade, right here in Trenton. A few days afterward, "Autorefractor 2" found its new home in Peterborough, and I just shipped it today! Both paintings can be seen in this photo (with me) at the festival.

It was truly one of the best art festivals I’ve experienced. Alongside talented artists from across Ontario, there was live music, activities, raffles, door prizes, and an amazing team of volunteers who made the entire weekend feel awesome.

I’m incredibly grateful to have taken part in the Buckhorn Arts Festival, one of Ontario’s most established and respected indoor art festivals. With a strong reputation for showcasing exceptional artists and attracting engaged art lovers and collectors, it was an honour to be included in such a thoughtfully organized legacy show.

Thank you to everyone who supported my artwork by bringing a piece home. I’m already hoping to return next year to celebrate the festival’s 50th anniversary.

🔴SOLD

Today, Autorefractor 2 is being shipped to Peterborough, where it will be displayed at the optometry office of Dr. Joe Hoja.

The hot air balloon is a familiar image used inside eye exam machines. I love the strange feeling of looking at that tiny image and imagining it as a real place, almost as though there’s a whole world waiting for you inside the machine.

The other two paintings in the series, Autorefractor and Autorefractor 3, have already found homes with a collector here in Trenton. Of the three, this one has always been my favourite, so I’m especially happy to see it going to an optometry professional.

Just picked up the brush for the first time since my solo show, so I was a little apprehensive about getting back into it. But Buckhorn felt like the perfect reason to hit the canvas again.

So I made three 6x6 summer minis: Jump In 2, Bounce, and Quiet Reflection.

Each is fully framed at $175 and they’re on display today and all weekend at the Buckhorn Arts Festival.

✨ SOLD! CONVERGENCE! ✨

I’m incredibly excited to share that this piece has found its home with John Campbell, a collector, patron, supporter of the arts, and, if I say so myself, an absolutely amazing dude.

Convergence was the very last painting I produced for my solo exhibition Halcyon Days: Ultra Vivid, and it’s a particularly powerful piece within the collection. John was immediately drawn to the story behind it, which I’ve included in the pictures, a page from my art book!

Interestingly, after purchasing my recent art book, John told me that it was actually reading the story that helped him fully understand the artwork and made him appreciate it even more. That meant a lot to me. Sometimes a painting needs a little time, context, and a second look before everything clicks into place.

The journey of this painting has been a short but meaningful one. It made it to only my solo show and one festival before being collected, and now it’s somewhere that feels incredibly fitting.

I’m especially thrilled that it’s going to become part of John’s already vivid and vibrant collection of original artwork. Knowing that one of my paintings will have a prominent place among the works he has collected and supported over the years is genuinely an honour.

So, John, thank you. Thank you for collecting another beautiful art piece, for supporting a local artist and for giving this gorgeous piece a life beyond my studio walls.
