As I look back on 2023, I don't have any art to show or progress in my artistic skills because I made *almost* nothing this year except my daughter.
That being said, she's my greatest work of art yet ✨️

What I learned this year being a part-time artist...

I learned to slow down and create with intention, people say to post everyday to grow your followers or be seen on social media, but in doing so you can push out content that becomes boring and unauthentic.

Be true to yourself and make what you feel. It will resonate more and give you more time for yourself.
While social media is a great tool, the algorithm can be a real bitch.

I've learned that quality is much more meaningful than quantity because the people that follow you deserve to see quality and not have crap thrown in their face just so they don't forget about you, be confident in your quality.

Have you been reflecting on your 2022?

This is the year I first fell in love with and began creating tempered glass mosaics, forever changing my art career. I changed my work to protect my work-life balance, and in doing so, it created more space to nurture my creative practice.

My focus became all about glass mosaic and exploring its possibilities, I'm proud of the work I produced this year and am so grateful for the support along the way 🙌

2023 will be about nurturing my health and wellness first, for if my body isn't well, neither am I or my art.
Im excited to see what I'll create in 2023!

Say it with me "I don't need lots of room to make art" 🎨

I often hear people say they would paint but they just don't have the room or the time, and honestly I used to be one of those people too.

The first picture is where I planned on working yesterday.

The second is a picture of where I painted most of the day yesterday, the floor.

If you make excuses for why you're not doing something you'll never do it, you don't need to be fully equipped to get started just get started and the rest will come.

Just a reminder that you can do it, it might be even better than what you had thought. 🙂
