Picnic in the Park Live music for dancing and picnic dining at Lordly Park, 109 Central St, Chester, Nova Scotia
Every Tuesday* evening in the summer, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Admission free! * If it's raining on Tuesday, we postpone to Wednesday, and if it's raining on Wednesday, we'll dance on Thursday. Free admission -- Donations for the band are welcome. Bring your family, your picnic supper and your dancing shoes!

July 9, 2026 – It was warm today in Chester, Nova Scotia. Real summer can’t be far away. And that means Picnic in the Park every Tuesday, from 6:00 to 8:00, at Lordly Park in Chester.
Did you know this is our 14th year? Although our line up varies a bit, you can be sure many of your favourite bands return every year. Over the years we’ve had 28 different bands, and only the Parsons Brothers have played every single PiP summer. And what to say about our sponsors? We’ve had 38 different sponsors, with AA Munro Insurance, who took over from Blair Armstrong Insurance, sponsoring every year. We are soooo fortunate that these generous folks continue to support us.

Tuesday, June 2: Can you believe – the days are longer (if not warmer), summer is trying to get here (the sun is shining this morning), AND there are only 34 more sleeps until the first Picnic in the Park, July 7th. Time to dig out your lawn chair and picnic basket, and dust off your dancing shoes. Great music. Fun time with your neighbours. Free admission (donations to the band are appreciated).
Every sunny Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:00, at Lordly Park in Chester, Nova Scotia. (Rain dates are Wednesdays, then Thursdays.)
BTW, we are trying to make PiP more accessible. If you have mobility issues, contact me by messenger; we will try to help.
