“dormancy + revival” // details.
collection: “the moon made me do it”, 18MAR2026. piece 1/11.
freehand illustration direct to pyrography, on live-edge basswood, approx. 9–10” diameter.

“dormancy + revival” was created as a tribute to the transition of winter into spring, honouring the phases visible everywhere in nature — including our darling moon.
botanicals featured are: wild enoki mushroom (flammulina velutipes), lingering rosehip (rosa rubiginosa), hellebore (helleborus niger), and snowdrop (galanthus nivalis) growing in conjunction with a snowy owl (bubo scandiacus), and a blue jay (cyanocitta cristata) skull.

the piece will be coffee-stained in the upcoming week!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! March 18th, 2026: "THE MOON MADE ME DO IT"; the very first hazy collection, falling in perfect alignment with an entire year since I made the decision to take my hiatus from art -- and also, the new moon!

There will be an email waitlist set up soon, allowing 24hr early access to the full catalog of creations -- so keep one eye open if you're looking to select your favourite(s) pre-drop. Until then (and beyond), the Hazy Sunday Facebook group is there to satisfy any desires for additional information and behind the scenes glimpses.

Mark your calendars, or watch the skies -- new moon, new art; clearing the haze.

THE MOON MADE ME DO IT.

"Immortalising the uncontrollable urge to be whimsical -- with a pinch of wide-eyed and wild. Follow the advice of the stars (they never learned to tell fibs), whisper secrets to the moon (who may or may not care), sit quietly in the arms of gentle darkness (for soft love stitches strong hearts); place trust in the new beginning, as dormancy slowly melts to revival. A waning winter is waltzing away on tiptoes, and "the moon made me do it" blows a fleeting kiss goodbye -- until next time. For there will always be a next time. It is cyclical, remember. Wither. Grow. Bloom.

"THE MOON MADE ME DO IT" holds intentional gratitude for the past, and first notes of a crescendo representing courage to flourish into future. It is simultaneously wise and youthful, creating space for reflection and daydreams alike.

It is magnificent, it is magick, and it is madness. It is the moon..

(who made me do it.)"
