A quick Open Chorus update 🎶

We had talked about gathering again on March 16, but after looking at our schedules we’ll be holding our next gathering on Monday, March 30 instead.

Wow. Just… wow. 💛🎶

Twelve of us gathered tonight. Twelve voices in a room that didn’t know each other an hour earlier, singing songs like we’d been doing this for years.

Thank you 🙏

Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for being brave enough to sing.
Thank you for laughing, missing lyrics, finding the chorus together, and making that room feel alive.

There is something really special about a group of humans deciding to use their voices at the same time. Tonight felt easy. It felt joyful. It felt like the beginning of something.

Teghan and I left smiling ear to ear.

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out and helped make this first night what it was.

We have a space confirmed for our very first Open Chorus gathering!

We said we were going to do this… and now we’re doing it.

This first night is going to be simple and fun. We’ll bring the speaker, pre-pick a couple of songs, print the lyrics, and sing together.

No auditions. No pressure. Just a room full of humans making noise in the best way.

Hi friends 🎶

It’s Shannan and Teghan here.

While we haven’t found our forever choir home just yet, we didn’t want to wait any longer to start.

So we’re doing the thing.

Our very first Open Chorus gathering will be March 2nd at 6:30 PM. We’re securing a space for an hour and we’re keeping it beautifully simple.

No sheet music.
No warm up drills.
No music degrees.

We are not trained choir directors. We are not vocal coaches. We are literally just two women who love to sing and wanted more of it in our lives.

So here’s the plan:

We bring a boombox.
We pick a song.
We sing it together.

That’s it.

This isn’t about sounding impressive. It’s about sounding alive. It’s about laughing if we mess up. It’s about that feeling when everyone hits the chorus and the room shifts.

If you’ve been waiting for permission to sing without being “good enough,” this is it.

More details on location coming next week once we lock it in. For now, mark March 2nd at 6:30 in your calendar and let yourself get a little excited.

Hi Campbell River 💛

We’re Shannan and Teghan.

Two women who love music, love community, and recently looked at each other and said, “Why are we not singing more?”

So we’re starting something.

Open Chorus is a joy-first, no-audition community choir for people who love to sing but don’t necessarily call themselves singers. No solos. No pressure. Just humans in a room making noise together and having a good time.

We haven’t gathered yet because we’re currently looking for a place to call home.

This is where we need your help.

Do you know of a hall, studio, church space, warehouse, community room, or tucked-away gem here in Campbell River that could host us once or twice a month?

We’re looking for something affordable and welcoming. Nothing fancy. Just a space where voices can bounce around a little.

If you have ideas, connections, or even just a nudge in the right direction, we would be so grateful.

We’re excited about building this from the ground up and we’d love for it to be rooted right here in our community.

Let’s make some joyful noise.
