☀️🐾 What an amazing weekend at Rocky Wolf Ranch! 🐾☀️

This past Saturday and Sunday, we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 400 visitors to our ranch for Alberta Open Farm Days!

From our local community to guests travelling from Edmonton and Calgary, it was wonderful to meet so many people who came to discover our ranch, our sled dogs and what we do here. With perfect weather and beautiful sunshine, it was a fantastic weekend full of smiles, conversations and great memories. ❤️

But an event like this is never possible without an incredible team behind the scenes.

A huge THANK YOU to all our friends and helpers who gave their time, energy and support. Without you, none of this would have been possible! 🙏

🌲🏕️ Open Farm Days at Rocky Wolf Ranch! 🤠

The preparations for this year’s Open Farm Days weekend are well underway! 🔨🌲

There’s a lot happening around the ranch as we build, prepare, and get everything ready for our visitors — and our little Nordic tipi village is already finished! 🛖🔥

We can’t wait to welcome you this weekend and share a little piece of our world with you — ranch life, Nordic atmosphere, our dogs, and hopefully lots of great conversations and unforgettable moments. 🐺❤️

There’s still plenty to do, but we’re getting there! 😉

🤠🐺 What a fantastic evening at the Battle of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain House!

We were proud to be part of this great community event and brought four of our Alaskan Malamutes along with our training cart for sled dogs. 🐕‍🦺🛷

Our dogs were definitely the stars of the evening! There were lots of questions, interesting conversations and, of course, plenty of cuddles. The kids especially loved meeting the dogs — and after all that attention, our Malamutes were more than ready for a good rest! ❤️🐾

A big thank you to Discover Rocky for organizing such a wonderful evening and to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, shared stories and gave our dogs so much love.

We are always happy to show people what life with sled dogs is really like and to share a little bit of the passion behind Rocky Wolf Ranch. 🐺❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Janina & John at Hamingja Heritage Farm & Nature Preserve

Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting Janina and John at Hamingja Heritage Farm & Nature Preserve, and what an incredible experience it was.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. They generously shared their time, their knowledge, and their passion for the land, the animals, and the stories that make Hamingja such a special place. We spent hours exploring the farm, learning about the rare heritage breeds, the conservation projects, the Viking history, and the beautiful natural spaces they have created. Hamingja combines heritage livestock, nature conservation, Viking history, and educational experiences in a truly unique setting.

The highlight of the evening was sitting together around the campfire, sharing food, stories, and laughter as the sun set over the valley. Those are the moments that stay with you long after you leave.

What Janina and John have built is far more than a farm. It is a place filled with passion, kindness, history, nature, and genuine hospitality. Their love for preserving heritage breeds, protecting wildlife, and sharing knowledge with visitors shines through in everything they do.
