StoryBook Theatre is Canada's largest volunteer-driven Theatres for Young Audiences and families. In our almost 45 years of serving Calgary, we have fostered the love and passion for theatre arts in over one million people. Each season we bring together some of the industries brightest emerging talents both on and off the stage to create some incredibly accessible theatre for the whole family. We

bring stories to life in a way that encourages children and their families to dream about who they are and may become, to explore the story from different perspectives, to think using inductive reasoning, and to connect to other people and ideas.

🎶 CAST SPOTLIGHT! StoryBook is so excited to welcome Alysa Utigard for the upcoming production: HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION, as part our Underworld Cast! 🌹

Alysa is a Grade 11 student at St. Francis High School with a passion for musical theatre and performance. She has brought a wide range of memorable characters to life on stage, including Audrey in Descendants Jr., Mary in Mary Poppins Jr., and Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda Jr.. Through Storybook Theatre’s Spotlight Program, she appeared as Morticia in The Addams Family Jr., and most recently performed as Heather Duke in Heathers the Musical: Teen Edition (SSIP 2024).
Her latest role was Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5 the Musical at St. Francis, along with appearances in multiple musical theatre revues.
When she’s not on stage, Alysa continues to develop her artistry through dance and vocal performance. Outside of performing, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and looks forward to summer vacations each year.

Delaney has been a dancer all her life, but only started doing theatre after graduating high school. She wants to thank all her family, friends, and mentors for endlessly supporting her silly dreams.

FOR STORYBOOK THEATRE: Chicago, Heathers, Singers@Snowfall ELSEWHERE: Grease, Macbeth, Shuddersome (WH CROXFORD) Family Dinner, 10 Ways To Survive The Zombie Apocalypse (CAPA ZONES COMPETITION) OF INTEREST: Julia yearly participates in the Airdrie Rotary Festival Of Performing Arts, this year she received an Outstanding Performance Award in Musical Theatre and a provincial scholarship (AMFA) for MT ballad in the 28 and under category at the age of 16. In past years she has won at the provincial level (AMFA) and won countless awards at the local level. Julia has been a finalist in different categories for the past two years at the Airdrie Mayors Night Of The Arts. She is also a part of the Croxford Academy Of Performing Arts where they tour with TYA theatre to local schools. They also compete in their zone with plays written by the students in CAPA. Julia would like to thank all of her teachers and family for their never ending support.
