Fish Creek Concerts

09/28/2026

Fish Creek Concerts is part of a bigger community, and this fall we’re finding a few simple ways to give back along the way.
Friday, October 2 — Cara Luft at River Park Church
We’ll be collecting new, bright, fun and colourful socks for a local organization supporting women in need.
Saturday, October 17 — Lloyd Spiegel
We’re doing a little sneak-a-peek fundraiser for CKUA’s fall campaign. CKUA plays the artists we present and supports the music we love. Fish Creek Concerts will match all cash donations to CKUA, dollar for dollar, up to $500.
Saturday, December 5 — Over The Moon: “Christmas on the Range”
At both the matinee and evening shows, we’ll be collecting donations for the Calgary Food Bank.
Good music. Good people. And a chance to do a little good along the way.

BRIANNA LIZOTTE OPENS FOR CARA LUFT
Friday, October 2 • River Park Church

We’re thrilled to have JUNO-nominated Métis fiddler Brianna Lizotte opening the evening for Cara Luft.

Brianna’s music is rooted in traditional Métis fiddle, with plenty of energy, personality and her own fresh touch. Her album Winston & I earned her a 2025 JUNO nomination for Traditional Indigenous Artist of the Year.

And yes… this announcement is a little late. Between our recent cyber-hacking adventures and me being a bit off my game, Brianna got caught in the shuffle.

Sorry, Brianna — you deserved an earlier drum roll!

Come early and catch Brianna Lizotte + Cara Luft — it’s going to be a fine Friday night.

Caution a little bit long but interesting, My journey with Cara Luft! I’ve been lucky enough to watch Cara Luft’s musical journey for a very long time.

I first saw her around Calgary when she was still young, and there was something about her energy, determination and spark that grabbed me. Early on, I remember comparing that fire to a young Ani DiFranco.

I also remember talking with her dad at Folklife when Cara was just getting started and telling him she was simply too talented not to give music a real shot.

And what a ride it’s been — The Wailin’ Jennys, solo work, The Small Glories, the 50 for 50 project, that terrific night at The Grand with Neil Osborne, and now another new chapter.

Her new CD, My Heart Will Always Be, and this wonderful project with Clayton Parsons show once again that Cara never stands still.

I’m really happy to be presenting her at River Park Church on Friday, October 2.

May Cara’s musical metamorphosis never stop.

Some gifts come wrapped in paper. This one comes with five strings.
Take a few minutes with Cara Luft and “The Banjo Is a Gift” — warm, playful, beautifully played, and a pretty good taste of what makes Cara such a special live performer.
Then come hear her live in Calgary.
