We are thrilled to have Ruiping speak at our upcoming Calgary VegFest 2026 event! She will be presenting on iconic endangered species in the province, the historic and current actions, and their status, with some information on environmental risks.
Ruiping Luo is a Conservation Specialist with Alberta Wilderness Association. Fascinated with the natural world and the connections between species, she studied Ecology at the University of Calgary, and obtained a MSc at the University of Toronto, working on drought impacts to plants and herbivores. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crafts and biking to parks.
Ruiping Luo has worked in her role with Alberta Wilderness Association for the past five years. She works primarily in the prairie region, on issues including public lands and protected areas, renewable energy, and species at risk.
