While her subject matter is eclectic, her Koi paintings as well as her commissioned portraits are particularly prized. Nicole Dolson is a graduate of a classical art academy which traces its lineage back through Michael John Angel to Pietro Annigonni. She has studied with Juan Carlos Martinez among other artists whom she particularly respects. Her art has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, in
American Art Collector and in Southwest Art Magazines. She has received awards from the Art Renewal Centre International Salon Competition as well as the American Women Artists Association where she is a member with distinction. She is an active member of several local art associations including the Burlington Fine Arts Association of which she is the president. Nicole’s art has been shown in various group exhibitions in Canada and the US and is enjoyed in several private collections. While her subject matter is eclectic, her Koi paintings, florals and her commissioned portraits are particularly prized. She was one of three artists chosen to be part of the CEMA award winning television documentary, Healing Portraits Project. Her favourite comment on her art comes from respected colleague, Guennadi Kalinine, “Regardless of the subject, your work has soul!”
