We’ve been quietly building something sacred — a place where land, language, horses, ceremony, and traditional knowledge come together to heal and transform lives.

Zhingwaak Medicine Ranch is ready to open its circle.

Follow us on our journey, like our page and take a couple of minutes to check out the posts below as we begin to share what’s been happening and what’s coming.

Join us as we step into our new chapter.

Zhingwaak Medicine Ranch is a sacred space where land, language, horses, and community come together to heal and transform lives.

Our work is rooted in the knowing that true healing is not something we create — it’s something we allow. It lives in the land beneath our feet, in the language, in the medicine of the horses, and in the circle of community and the healing that takes place when we come together.

We do this work because generations of disconnection — from land, culture, and identity — have left deep wounds. By returning to the land, we restore balance.

By speaking our language, we reclaim Anishinaabe Aadiziwin and ceremony.

By partnering with horses, we learn presence, honesty, authenticity and emotional intelligence.

And by coming together as a community, we rebuild the circle of belonging - what community is all about.

Zhingwaak is more than a retreat space — it’s a living vision for the next generations. It’s a place where Elders share and pass down teachings on the land, youth learn who they are, and people from all walks of life are welcomed to release pain and trauma, reconnect with their spirit, and remember their original instructions.

We are so thankful to NDNCollective for their support. We are also thankful for the dedicated effort, hard work, as well as in kind donations of time and materials by our team Nicole Van Stone, Robin and Richard Gionette, Randi Sinclair and Sonny Lamarche. We are thankful for the guidance, direction and support of our Elders and Knowledge Carriers.

This dedicated commitment has been vital to our progress to date
and we require funding to move forward.
Every contribution big or small moves us closer to our goal.

If this vision speaks to your heart — whether you wish to support the work, learn more about what’s to come, or explore how this space might serve your community — we invite you to connect with us. Reach out anytime at [email protected]

Land Development — Before & After Progress

Take a look at the transformation of the land — a place where horses, language, ceremony, and culture will come together to change lives.

We are so thankful to ABT Construction and Forestry from Mississaugi First Nation for their in kind donations and the work they have been doing in partnership with us.

This land is being shaped with care, intention and ceremony — every step forward is a step toward creating a space rooted in Traditional Knowledge and Healing.

But our work isn’t finished yet.
To continue developing this land — building lodging, healing spaces and expanding our programs — we need your support.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come — but together, we can go even further!

Please consider supporting Zhingwaak Medicine Ranch today.
Every contribution, big or small, moves us closer to completing our project and welcoming people home to the land and themselves

Our Shabdowon Lodge was lowered earlier this year.
Gchi-Miigwech to the staff at Nogdawindamin Family & Community Service!

This journey has been built with love, determination, and community. This lodge will be a place where people gather for teachings, ceremony, connection and language learning — a space for healing, remembering, and renewal.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come — but together, we can go even further.

Please consider supporting Zhingwaak Medicine Ranch today.
Every contribution, big or small, moves us closer to opening our doors and welcoming people.

Healing with Horses...
Bezhigoozhii Noojimoowin

Horses are spiritual and they allow the individual to heal on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

Horses are more than companions — they are spiritual beings, ancient teachers, and powerful healers. In our Anishinaabe worldview, they are relatives with gifts to share, carrying medicine that reaches into the deepest parts of who we are. Their spirits hold memory, presence, and truth, and their teachings help us come back into balance with ourselves and the world around us.

Horses are the teachers, we provide a safe container where horses transmute and shift energy to allow humans to let go of what no longer serves them.

What started as a dream — a sacred space where horses and humans could heal together — is becoming real before our eyes.

We’re so excited to share a glimpse of our journey with you.
The land where this arena now stands was once just a vision held in our hearts. Today, it’s transforming into a space where we will rebuild confidence, where trauma will be released, and where teachings will be shared for generations to come.

This is more than just a building — it’s a dome of healing, learning, and connection that will hold countless stories to come.
