This September the Belleville Theatre Guild took part in Doors Open Belleville, a free annual event featuring historic buildings, cultural sites, guided tours and behind-the-scenes access to local landmarks.

Nearly 100 visitors came to the playhouse during Doors Open and got to see behind the scenes, where we make the magic happen!

One of our visitors, Stephen Heard, captured these snaps of Leondra King on stage for Seniors on Stage for Seniors, the dressing room full of costumes for the 75th anniversary show and the tech booth where all the sound and lights are run for each production.

Thank you for everyone who came out and to Stephen for getting these great snaps!

🚨Audition Alert!!🚨
Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii Auditions!

Synopsis:
When Vivien Bliss, author of Harlequin Romance novels, sets out to spend a romantic weekend with respectably married school teacher Edgar Chisholm, she starts a train of events which involves all the classic elements of farce - confused identities, disguise, long-lost relatives, ambushes, chases, doors slamming, coincidence piled on top of coincidence and glorious mayhem. How Vivien gets her new novel finished in the face of, behind the back of, in spite of and with the help of an advice columnist, a nosy reporter, a doctor in pantyhose, an orphan with a cake and ‘Helga the evil Russian physicist’, is the hilarious, ridiculous story of NURSE JANE GOES TO HAWAII - a sophisticated Canadian comedy set in Toronto, and a superbly constructed, marvelous, incredible farce.

Steel Magnolias Preview Night is Tonight!

Get your tickets and come see the show the cast and crew have been working hard on for months. We can’t wait to share this wonderful story with you!

What is a preview?
A preview is a soft opening before the show officially opens. It’s the cast’s first opportunity to perform for an audience, and your reactions help them fine-tune the pacing and flow of the show. A few things may still be adjusted, but you can expect the same fantastic theatre experience, with tickets at a slightly discounted price!

Come support local theatre, enjoy a great show and help us kick off Steel Magnolias!

Meet the cast of Steel Magnolias:
Vickie Williams as Clairee

Miracle on 34th Street” was going to be my final performance; then “7 Stories” was going to be it. Along came “Steel Magnolias” with the delightfully sassy Clairee- a role I had performed here in 1995. Fate put a halt to my planned stage retirement. It has been a joy working with such a supportive crewyou ladies, in real life, demonstrate what the heart of this story is all about. I hope I will be “too colourful for words

Get your tickets and experience Steel Magnolias live on stage with the Belleville Theatre Guild. Running October 13-November 1, 2026.

Phil Bowerman made an impact on the Belleville Theatre Guild that will last for generations.

There is no one at the Belleville Theatre Guild who has not felt Phil’s impact in some way. Phil was on the board for decades. He worked on stage and off. He worked on almost every production. It is impossible to name everything he did for us. He was an archivist, a mentor, and a friend.

He was not just a fixture of the BTG but the entire theatre community has been impacted by his dedication to the craft.

The magic of theatre is that once you’re part of the community, you will always be part of the community. We might be grieving the loss of Phil Bowerman but we know he has made a lasting impact on the theatre world and he will always be present and part of our shows.

Thank you Phil for gracing our stage and taking your bows with us. We will always remember you.

A service is being planned for Phil. When details are ready we will share them.
