As a tattooer, things I find scamish:
1) hourly rates in most cases. Reworking and finishing in some cases, okay. Moreover, you should only be paying for needle run time.
2) Most flat day rates, dragging your ass to get max for minimal work to fill in booked days.
3) The way people try to justify the cost to do your tattoo. It is not like they opened a new $25 bottle of red, filled a cap, did your tattoo and tossed out the rest. The needles cost $24 to $40 for a box of 20 not each one. And the rest of what they use might in total add up to a few bucks in all.
