📣 HERSport | 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GBV
Unequal Opportunities & Discrimination in Sport: The Silent Beginning of GBV
At FaithWorx, we believe sport is more than entertainment — it’s a platform for transformation, dignity, and equal opportunity. But for many girls and young women, the sports field becomes the first place where they encounter gender-based discrimination.
This is GBV too.
Not all violence is physical.
Sometimes it starts with small exclusions that grow into lifelong barriers.
💔 Girls denied access to training facilities.
💔 Women’s teams receiving old or damaged equipment.
💔 No transport arranged for girls’ games, while boys travel comfortably.
💔 Girls stuck with “leftover” training times after the boys finish.
💔 A talented female player consistently benched while boys take every opportunity.
💔 Coaches saying things like: “Girls are not serious about sport.”
These moments may seem harmless to some — but they plant the seeds of unequal power, stereotypes, and silencing, which are at the core of gender-based violence.
When we ignore women’s potential…
When we deny them space on the field…
When we treat them as afterthoughts…
We send a message that they are less deserving.
Less valued.
Less important.
✨ FaithWorx stands against this.
Through our platforms, leagues, media, and youth programs, we are committed to building sports communities where everyone— male or female— has equal room to grow, play, lead, and win.
As we observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, let’s look honestly at our fields, courts, teams, and clubs.
Let’s challenge discrimination wherever it hides.
Let’s give women in sport the same courage we expect from athletes — the courage to show up, take space, and shine.
🧡 Together, we can build safer, fairer spaces for all.
