Bhutan is undergoing a transformative journey toward a prosperous and self-reliant future, inspired by the visionary initiatives of the Golden Throne. Central to this transformation is the launch of the 13th Five-Year Plan (FYP), the Gyalsung program, and the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) project, all of which seek to prepare Bhutanese citizens to become conscientious contributors to the nation's progress.
The 13th FYP represents a monumental investment of Nu. 456 billion, envisioning Bhutan’s evolution into a “High Income GNH Economy” by 2034, with a projected GDP of USD 10 billion. This ambitious plan aligns with Bhutan’s national brand, Bhutan Believe, which embodies the collective aspirations of the Bhutanese people and strengthens the bond between citizens, the nation, and the Golden Throne. It emphasizes a shared vision of unity, purpose, and belief in the nation's potential to achieve remarkable goals.
Despite these promising endeavors, Bhutan faces critical challenges, including youth emigration, unemployment, and sluggish economic recovery. These issues demand a concerted effort to uplift morale and create a cohesive force for progress. The Better to Best Bhutan initiative addresses these challenges by fostering optimism, instilling hope, and rallying the Bhutanese around a shared vision of prosperity. Grounded in the principles of Bhutan Believe—“We see a bright future. And we believe in our ability and responsibility to realize it together”—this reality show seeks to inspire a brighter tomorrow while positioning Bhutan as a global beacon of possibility.
