Jigme Wangdi, popularly known as Jigme Oather, is a Bhutanese singer, songwriter, composer, and former child actor. Known for his soulful vocals and smooth fusion of pop and R&B, he has become one of the most recognized names in Bhutan’s contemporary music scene.

He first stepped into the Bhutanese entertainment industry as a child actor in 2000 before later returning as a playback singer, composer, and actor. Over the years, his heartfelt songwriting and distinctive vocal style have earned him a devoted fan base both in Bhutan and among Bhutanese communities overseas.

Although he later moved to Australia to pursue higher education, he has continued to stay connected to music, regularly recording and releasing songs for audiences back home. His ability to balance academics while remaining active in the industry has further strengthened his reputation as a dedicated and versatile artist.

Sherab Dorji also known as Drungtsho Sherab is a celebrated Bhutanese singer, songwriter, and composer widely recognized for his immense contribution to Bhutanese music. Although he performs and records his own songs, including the popular track Druk Mi Gawa, he is especially acclaimed for composing and writing numerous hit songs for many of Bhutan’s leading vocalists.

Beyond his musical achievements, he serves as an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Traditional Medicine under Khesar Gyelpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan. A distinguished lyricist, he has won the Best Lyricist award five times at the Bhutan National Film Awards.

In addition to mentoring and collaborating with fellow artists through recordings and live performances, he is also a respected judge and musical mentor on the popular Bhutanese television show Druk Gi Zhabthra.

Some of his notable songs and collaborations include “Doe Nyam Ga” with Tshering Yangdon, “Thou Sharsi La,” “Luchi Phuel,” and “Chula Si Sho.”

Sonam Tenzin, fondly known as Lopen Bongs, is one of Bhutan’s most distinguished composers, lyricists, and vocalists from Bumthang. Revered as a pioneer and maestro of Rigsar music, he has written and composed more than a thousand songs, leaving an enduring mark on Bhutanese music and culture.

A five-time recipient of the Bhutan National Film Award for Best Lyricist, Sonam Tenzin has earned widespread acclaim for his exceptional contribution to the nation’s entertainment industry. Beyond his musical achievements, he is also a devoted educator, accomplished film scriptwriter, and respected reality television judge, notably on programs such as Talent Hunt and Druk Gi Kalapingka.

Over the years, he has created lyrics and melodies for numerous iconic Bhutanese film soundtracks and contemporary folk songs, including Zhen Ghi Lamsol and Sem Namtog, further cementing his legacy as one of Bhutan’s most influential musical figures.

Kuenlay Gyeltshen, popularly known as Lopen Tolly, is a well-respected educator, lyricist, and cultural advocate who has dedicated much of his life to preserving Bhutanese culture and inspiring young people within the Bhutanese community, both at home and abroad.

Currently serving as the principal of the Bhutanese Language School in Western Australia, he plays a leading role in teaching Dzongkha and helping younger generations of Bhutanese living overseas stay connected to their roots and cultural identity.

Beyond education, Lopen Tolly is also a talented songwriter and composer who has earned multiple National Film Awards in Bhutan for Best Lyrics, reflecting his creativity and contribution to Bhutanese music and arts. Widely admired in the media and entertainment scene, he has appeared as a guest on programs like the Voice of Bhutan and has also served as a judge on several reality television shows.

Tenzin Jamtsho, popularly known by his iconic stage name Pangtse Kira, is a renowned Bhutanese singer and songwriter from Lhuntse.

He rose to fame through his influential Rigsar (folk-pop) music of the 1990s and 2000s, especially with his breakthrough 1998 hit “Pangtse Kira Ki Mi Bum.” After pursuing Buddhist studies, he began his musical journey by performing on Bhutan Broadcasting Service Radio in 1992.

His career reached new heights with the release of the album Pangtse Kira in 1998, which became a nationwide sensation following the launch of its music video in 1999. In addition to “Pangtse Kira Ki Mi Bum,” he is also widely admired for beloved songs such as “Meto Lung Ghi Basa” and “Zamin Morap.”
