The Prep School is estimated to be about 250 years old and was the school house in which the older persons recieved their education. After a new primary school was built for the young generation, The Prep School became abandoned for quite a number or years falling into the hands of natue to become 'run down'. In 2010, a small board calling themselves Tarpum Bay's Historical and Heritage Society de
cided that they would renovate and restore The Prep School and use it as a Center for Arts and Culture for the island; hence, the name Eleuthera's Arts and Cultural Centre came into being. Today, Eleuthera's Art and Cultural Center is on the rise. At an advantage of sitting on a Hill-top, a world class stage will sit at the bottom of the hill and the hill would be transformed into seating with a natural rise allowing the beauty of outside performances. Additionally, the inside of the building can be used for meetings, wedding receptions, workshops, church services, ceremonies, etc. If you are ever in Tarpum Bay, stop by and check out Eleuthera's Arts and Cultural Centre.
