Qpid 242

28/09/2026

No matter how far my music travels, my roots stay Bahamian. That part of me never changes. 🇧🇸🎶

Truly Bahamian and proud...global visionary.

Some songs stay on a playlist. Others become part of a memory.

When you think of Qpid, what is the FIRST thing that comes to mind - a song, a moment, a place, or just a feeling?

Don't overthink it. Drop the first thing that hits you.

I'm curious to see what connects with people at home, abroad, and those discovering the music now. 🇧🇸

242, I want to hear this one from the people 🇧🇸

What is ONE Bahamian tradition, saying, food, sound or way of life you hope we never lose?

Not the tourist version. The real thing that makes home feel like home.

Drop yours below - and if somebody says yours already, add the memory behind it.

Yesterday’s comments reminded me of something: music isn’t just a song — it’s a time, a place, a memory.

So 242, tell me this 👇🏾

What Bahamian song takes you straight back to a specific moment in your life?

Could be a party, Junkanoo, school days, a road trip, a relationship — whatever.

Drop the song and the memory. 🇧🇸

242, help me settle something 👇🏾

If you had ONE Qpid song to play for somebody who’s never heard the music before, what are you choosing?

“Gimmie My Culture”? “Footwork”? “Hurt Me With the Music”? “Attica”? Or another one?

Drop the title below. I want to see what the people say. 🇧🇸

Go Mama Go... doing the ! 💃🏾🔥

One thing about Goat-Skin & Glory that makes it special is that the album was built the traditional way with live musicians, live instruments, and real performances. Every groove, every rhythm, every note was played by talented musicians who helped bring this vision to life.

Footwork is one of my favorite examples of that approach.

When we was creating it, We wanted to capture the energy and spirit of classic Bahamian music while giving it a fresh, modern sound. The dynamics were intentionally crafted to pay homage to the unmistakable musical flavors of legends like Carl "Flash" Rodgers and Ronnie Butler artists whose music helped shape our culture.

From the live horns and percussion to the rhythm section and vocal arrangements, every layer was designed to make you feel something. Qpid didn't just want you to hear the music, he wanted you to move to it, to absorb the feeling of it.

So the next time Footwork comes on... don't fight it.
