Man With Conch Shells, 34 x 24 inches, oil on canvas
I didn't plan this painting; the moment found me.
A man wading through shallow water, conch shells in hand, quiet and focused. I knew right away I had to paint it. There's something quite moving about that connection to the sea: the work, the tradition, the rhythm of island life.
The figure fills most of the canvas, but the true center is the conch shell, where the warm pinks and peach tones draw your eye.
