American History X - Still Hits Like a Freight Train
Most people don't know that skinhead culture started multi-cultural, working-class, and anti-racist - ska, reggae, Black and white kids on the same dancefloor. Then it got hijacked by white supremacy so completely that groups like the Baldies had to form in Minneapolis just to fight back and reclaim it.
That's the real history this film walks into. Pre-social media, pre-algorithms - just neighborhoods, music, rage, and belonging pulling lost young men into something monstrous. The film shows the machinery of radicalization without flinching, and you understand how it happens. That's the uncomfortable point.
The gut-punch comes at the end. After everything, the answer isn't revenge or politics. It's a classroom. A teacher. A book.
Education is the only way out. The film knew it then. Still true now.
A good watch. Then go write a better chapter of history.
