Миналата седмица „Taste History“ имаше честта да посрещне специални гости – децата от Детска академия "Viki&kids "Сред античните руини на Сердика, тези малки откриватели не просто дегустираха автентично българско кисело мляко – те „опитаха“ историята на България.

Видяхме как през техните любопитни очи миналото оживява. За нас беше истинско вдъхновение да споделим нашето „Живо наследство“ с деца, които се интересуват, питат и усещат традициите с всичките си сетива.

Благодарим на екипа на „Viki&Kids“ за доверието и на родителите, че възпитават тези прекрасни малки българи да ценят корените си. Точно тези моменти ни напомнят защо правим това, което правим!

**When history tastes like children's laughter... 🥣🏛️**

Last week, "Taste History" had the honor of hosting some very special guests—the children from the "Viki&Kids" academy. Among the ancient ruins of Serdica, these little explorers didn’t just taste authentic Bulgarian yogurt—they "tasted" the history of Bulgaria.

We witnessed history coming alive through their curious eyes. It was truly inspiring for us to share our "Living Museum" experience with children who are so eager to learn, ask questions, and embrace traditions with all their senses.

We thank the team at @"Детска академия "Viki&kids " for their trust and the parents for raising these wonderful little citizens to value their roots. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do!

Отговорът се крие в търсенето на истинското Българско кисело мляко, поднесено с горещо сърце и изключителен професионализъм. Запознайте се с Валентин Патри – френски режисьор и журналист, която избра България за своята мисия. За първи път стъпвайки в страната ни, тя не потърси клишетата, а избра Гинци – село с едва 120 жители, тежко засегнато от обезлюдяването.

Валентин долетя директно от Париж и още на следващия ден беше на пасището. Тя говори с овчаря, докосна тревата и вдиша планинския въздух, търсейки магията на „бялото злато“ – Българското кисело мляко. След часове обикаляне по поляните, бяхме в дома на местна жена, за да уловим ритуала на квасенето.

Точно това кисело мляко, родено от земята на Гинци, ние от „Taste History“ предложихме на нашите туристи в дегустация в руините на Сердика само ден по-късно. Валентин се превърна в истинска „повелителка на Млечния път“, проследявайки всяка капка от извора до масата.

Как се случи всичко това, ще видим скоро в нейните репортажи. Благодарим на Валентин Патри и Feelingside Productions за честта да извървим този път заедно. За нас беше вълнуваща седмица и привилегия да бъдем част от едно толкова мащабно и историческо събитие.

What is the connection between Paris and the village of Gintsi? 🇫🇷🇧🇬

The answer lies in the quest for authentic Bulgarian Yogurt, combined with a warm heart and exceptional professionalism. Meet Valentin Patry—a French director and journalist who chose Bulgaria for her mission. Visiting our country for the first time, she didn’t look for clichés; she chose Gintsi—a village with only 120 residents, deeply affected by depopulation.

Valentin flew in straight from Paris and was out in the pastures the very next day. She spoke with the shepherd, touched the grass, and breathed in the mountain air, all in search of the magic of our "white gold"—Bulgarian Yogurt. After hours of trekking through the meadows, we were in the home of a local woman to capture the ritual of yogurt making.

That very yogurt, born from the lands of Gintsi, was what we at "Taste History" served to our guests during our tasting in the ruins of Serdika just one day later. Valentin truly became the "Mistress of the Milky Way," tracing every drop from the source to the table.

We will soon see how it all unfolded in her reports. We thank Valentin Patry and Feelingside Productions for the honor of walking this path together. It was an inspiring week and a privilege to be part of such a significant and historic event.

Заедно изследвахме местните пазари, дегустирахме селектирани бутикови български вина и традиционни сирена, а след това те вложиха цялото си сърце в майсторството на палачинките с квас. Two lovely British ladies, longtime friends, chose our home in Sofia as their special meeting point. One flew from France, the other all the way from Australia, just to reconnect here with us.

Together, we explored local markets, tasted boutique Bulgarian wines and traditional cheeses, and mastered the art of sourdough baking. Our unique, live-culture sourdough pancakes were paired with fresh seasonal fruits and authentic Bulgarian yogurt. 🥞🍓🍷

A historic moment: Pinsa Romana returns to the Via Romana! 🏛️🥖

Sometimes, food is more than just a meal—it is a bridge across centuries. Yesterday, at the heart of the Ancient Serdica Complex, something extraordinary happened.

Our lovely guests from Greece 🇬🇷 and Slovakia 🇸🇮 joined us for what they thought would be a traditional Bulgarian Yogurt Tasting. But as history enthusiasts and sourdough experts, we had a surprise waiting for them.

For the first time in centuries, the ancient Roman road Decumanus Maximus smelled of freshly baked bread. We served our handcrafted Pinsa Romana, prepared with 72-hour cold fermentation and our signature lievito madre (sourdough), right there on the original Roman stones.

It was a deeply emotional moment. Watching people from different corners of what was once the Roman Empire come together over a recipe resurrected from history—right where it belongs.

They came for the yogurt, but they left with a piece of living history. 🏺✨

This is why we do what we do. We don’t just offer tastings; we revive stories.

One year ago, **Taste History** started almost as a joke. Today, we are proud to be a **Top Pick** in Sofia! 🏆

It all began on April 12th, 2025, after a one-day creative tourism workshop. My son, Joan, chose to present a project about our legendary Bulgarian Yogurt to a university rector. Though we are a simple family living in a rented home, and sending him to study in Switzerland was a dream we couldn't afford, we didn't let that stop us.

With my background as a journalist, a 20th-century art collector, and a sourdough baker, we took that student project and turned it into a real-life experience on GetYourGuide in just one week. A month later, we were already at the top of the charts!

We even took a pause this year to focus on the most important goal: supporting Joan as he applies to Sciences Po, one of Europe’s most prestigious universities. It hasn't been easy—we faced financial pressure and personal sacrifices—but we stayed united. 🤝

To restart our activities this month, we had to borrow from friends, but we are so grateful to be back!

We want to thank our partners at GetYourGuide , all our wonderful guests, and a special thank you to Jacques Bounin our "guardian angel" guest who supported us from the start.

Maybe this isn't a profitable business in numbers yet, but our profit is in the love we share and the incredible people we meet.

Day 3 of our sourdough journey! ✨
While the Easter Kozunaks are slowly maturing in the fridge, breakfast is served: warm *mekitsi* and *panzerotti*.

For lunch, three Roman-style *pinsas* are already waiting to be enjoyed.

Everything is crafted with premium Caputo flour, fresh Bulgarian eggs, a spoonful of local yogurt, and a lot of love for God and humanity.

What our Danish guests will experience tomorrow during their **"Sofia: Taste Bulgarian Yogurt Kiselo Mlyako in a Family Home"** session is not just food. It is a bridge to our ancestors.

It is living history, memory, and a profound human connection. They booked an activity... but they are about to receive an experience far deeper and more fantastic.
