But as an ambivert illustrator working from my home studio, 42 people feels like the beginning of something significant. It feels like building a village. 🏠
90 days ago, I launched my newsletter, Drawn to Grow. I didn’t want a space for just “pretty” final reveals. I wanted to talk about the unglamorous Chili Plant phase of a creative business, that long stretch where you’re watering the dirt every day, trusting the invisible growth happening beneath the surface. 🌱
The 90-Day Audit:
🎨 30 custom editorial illustrations drawn for my portfolio.
✍️ 9 in-depth articles on the messy middle of freelancing and design strategy.
🤝 42 amazing humans who care about the *how* and the *why*.
I’ve spent this time pushing through the “Rule of 50” to find my best ideas and sticking to my handcrafted Christmas Dinner approach, every single piece is 100% digitally hand-drawn. No shortcuts, just craft. ✍️
Building a brand is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about being “delulu” enough to start before you’re ready, but professional enough to show up even when the growth feels invisible.
To my village of 42: thank you for being here while the plant is still growing. 🌿
If you want to go behind the scenes of the design process, the link to join is in my bio! 💌
For the fellow quiet builders: How are you celebrating your “invisible growth” this week? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇
