Where am I? What day is it? Here are some photos from Tournai, Belgium where we played on Monday. First show back in the EU, it was a banger with our brothers Bleakness and a cool band from Lille, Short Days. The club, Au Bout De Nos Rêves, was a beautiful little place in grand punk style with the entrance through the bathroom— loved it so much. We had a short walk around the old city, played our show and then pulled up to a beautiful cathedral at night, right across from our lodgings for the evening. Oh, and Belgian waffles rule, ok?

A Sunday fun day matinee show in Cambridge was just right! Great turnout with an awesome lineup — Mutiny!, The Saffs, Bleakness and M.I.A. We got to walk down to the Cam River and take in some of the beauty of this wonderful city. And some after-show discussion in the pub was amazing. Thank you DS for booking us. This was our sixth and final show in the UK, sure hope we can come back!

Ok, reposting some of this in color: on our way to Sunderland we stopped at the Pete Shelley mural in Leigh. Sunderland, far to the north, was another great show. Paul from the band Splitbox opened with an impromptu acoustic set that was fantastic, what a voice! Then Diaz Brothers offered up some great melodic punk — killer band. Bleakness played another great set, they sounded so good. And there are a few shots from walking around town, plus Keith from Manchester came with friends to the show in Liverpool and then Sunderland also! Had some beers and a good chat after the show — cheers mate!

Alright, if this doesn’t work I’m throwing my phone in the river. Here’s Liverpool in color, with some Lemmy at Stoke on Trent and the site of Clay Records (Discharge) along the way. Last photo is an M.I.A. set list created by a fan — stoked we could play most of it!

Ahhh Liverpool! Another great show, we were at Guac n Roll where the proprietor Mikhail hooked us up with some of the best vegan burritos this side of the Rio Grande! We got to walk around town and visited the site of the Cavern Club where the Phab Four got their start. Liverpool is understandably proud of the Beatles, but it’s also a historic port city that many of my ancestors passed through on their way to America some 175 years ago. I could feel it. Along the way we found the original site of Clay Records (vinyl home of the band Discharge and others!) plus the monument to Lemmy (had a lovely British lunch across the street), and just now visited a mural dedicated to Pete Shelley in Leigh. Cheerio! Our tour manager Rèmi is an outstanding tour guide!

Days 2 and 3: London and Bristol. The London show was a shredder held in a wonderful venue, New River Studios. Intimate atmosphere, great sound and energy, couldn’t have been more fun. Then on to Bristol. We took the scenic route, stopping at the location of the first Black Sabbath album cover 🤘and then Stonehenge 🤘🤘 and along the way we also saw the beautiful Alton Barnes White Horse near Swindon (XTC anyone?). The show last night was at the legendary Bristol Exchange, on the floor and in your face, just how I like them! Had a surprise addition to the bill, Canada’s Faze — you gotta check them out!!!
