I hear this quite often about my characters.
I think the careful sanding and delicate painting change the way the wood looks. But when you see them up close, the natural grain is still visible.
And thatā€™s important to me. I want the wood to remain part of the character, rather than disappear completely under the paint. ā™„ļø

Each Leka is carved and painted entirely by hand and has her own number and date of birth. Each one also comes with her own personal box.

I thought I would finish three little dolls this week. I didnā€™t.
I worked on them every day, though, and reminded myself that finishing quickly was never the point.
I want each one to become exactly the character I had in mind.
