Today, 14 years ago, Metroland released its very first single: The Passenger. Not a cover version, but our own interpretation with a subtle nod to the original. To this day, the track remains one of the most beloved song among our fans. A special recognition followed in 2017, when The Passenger was chosen as the title song for the promotional campaign of Stockholm’s new metro.

Another highlight among the Metroland achievements: Rusty Egan has always been a true and unwavering supporter of Metroland.
Many will associate his name with Visage, with the iconic cult hit Fade To Grey. But having spent time with Rusty and spoken with him whenever we met over the past few years (lovely chats),
one thing is unmistakably clear: without him, today's electronic and alternative scene would have looked very, very different.
Rusty didn’t just witness the future, he helped define it. The present we know today carries his imprint. And so Metroland were deeply honoured to remix one of his songs in 2014, which later appeared on the album 'Welcome to the dancefloor'. Thanks mate!

Blimey, how could we forget? Because the name of our band is 'Metroland', many moons ago, none less than Andy McCluskey Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark asked us if we would love to be their support act. And so we ended up on stage in the Ancienne Belgique on May 20, 2013.

On this day, in 2016, we honoured our beloved friend Louis Zachert, who was taken away from us in August 2015. We released the dedicated musical testament 'Things will never sound the same again'.

Brother Louis, you will always be in our hearts and may you live on in our music and beyond.

Today marks the last day of 2025, a year in which we as Metroland intentionally decided to be less active. Still, we take pride in having finished our remix for Propaganda, that was such a massive honour for us.
Moreover, we have been working on a new concept for quite some time, carefully considering every detail in both music and art, you know how we are.
Looking forward to a future release, we are excited to share a sneak peek/listen filled with cheesy images to celebrate the arrival of the new year.
