Vintage Korean Najeonchilgi Lacquer Cabinet — Mother-of-Pearl Inlay 🇰🇷
A beautiful vintage Korean lacquer cabinet dating to approximately the 1970s, made in the traditional Najeonchilgi technique.
The cabinet features intricate mother-of-pearl (najeon) inlay set into a rich reddish-brown lacquer surface. The decoration depicts bamboo, birds and flowering plants, with the iridescent shell changing subtly between white, blue, green and pink depending on the light.
The cabinet has a hinged front door and three internal drawers, making it both a decorative object and a practical small storage cabinet.
One particularly interesting detail is the original Korean Eunhaeng-pyo (은행표) label, accompanied by Korean registration-number text and the number 6812. The original label is documented in the photographs.
