The Sea Lilies series by Amandine David & Esmé Hofman takes its inspiration - and name - from crinoids, fossilized marine animals that constitute blue stone. The name evokes the transformation of living things over time and echoes the designers’ reflections on organic materials and their evolution. The mineral comes into dialogue with the organic through the gesture of rattan coiling.

Discover and 's collaboration "Spending time with stone" at Augusta until November 21 - and in Miami from November 29th 👀 (more info soon + in upcoming newsletter).

Didier Henry & Ariane van Dievoet at for Soleil Noir 🌑

The Boghossian Foundation’s Soleil Noir at Villa Empain is a group exhibition of around a hundred works by Belgian artists, centred on Léon Spilliaert (1881–1946). Bringing historical and contemporary works together, the exhibition invites visitors to discover new dialogues with Spilliaert’s art.

Augusta is glad to be lending a sculpture by iron worker Didier Henry and designer Ariane van Dievoet for the exhibition. A partially melted brass disc rests on a fractured block of blue stone - a poetic, moon-like pairing of forged brass and reused materials that echoes the exhibition’s dialogue with Spilliaert.

This autumn, the Boghossian Foundation presents Soleil Noir at Villa Empain: a group exhibition of around a hundred works by Belgian artists, centred on the art of Léon Spilliaert (1881–1946). Bringing together works from his era and from today, the exhibition explores how artists across generations respond to Spilliaert’s work.

Augusta is pleased to lend Ombre #3 by Belgian textile designer Laure Kasiers to this major exhibition. Made from wool and linen in her Brussels studio, ’s rugs reflect a technique she has developed over nearly 20 years. Organic patterns and nuanced colour gradients make each piece unique.

Ariane van Dievoet at for Soleil Noir 🌑

At Villa Empain, the Boghossian Foundation presents Soleil Noir, bringing together around a hundred works by Belgian artists in dialogue with the art of Léon Spilliaert (1881–1946). Spanning generations, the exhibition explores connections between Spilliaert, artists of his time, and contemporary creators.

Augusta is proud to be lending Selene III to the exhibition: a new wall mirror from the Reflected Matter series, that reveals the natural fracture in a golden travertine marble half circle.
As a designer and founder of Augusta, transforms material offcuts into furniture and objects, drawing attention to the character and irregularities of the materials she reuses.
