Hello there! I’m 32 gay man from Antwerp Belgian with a diagnose of ASS back in 2000. After having to quit my special needs education + boarding school in 2012 I worked as a logistics manager for catering until 2024 until I got massively burned out. Couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep, my social networking got a massive kick in the nuts. I entered a psychiatric facility even to get a hang of myself again. Having finished this I started looking for jobs again slowly (with more attention to my diagnose this time) with help from a lovely fella at IPS from VDAB to accomodate my search for a workplace with special needs attention. It was apparent that the lack thereof got me burned out like a crisp at my previous working place. Now looking for a suitable workspace we (and the guy from VDAB) noticed that a drivers license is a must these days and I’m more than willing to go for this since I’m a fast learner but being on minimum welfare (to paint a picture: I have to go to the Voedselbanken) and the costs of my own apartment + monthly costs are my own there is no way in hell I can afford this. In a special needs space for acquiring my drivers license it would cost me up to € 1500 to achieve it properly. Your help would be greatly appreciated to help me move forward in what can be called the great next step of my special needs life and beyond.
