Antwerps kunstenaar Isha Sandra Hans (1996) stelt met 'Het Land van Uitschot' haar eerste stripverhaal tentoon. Haar bijzondere personages dansen doorheen een met-stiftjes-verzonnen wereld waarin ze voortdurend manoeuvreren tussen erbij willen horen en toch buitengesloten worden vanwege hun anders-zijn. Geïnspireerd door Isha’s eigen ervaringen met sociale uitsluiting en generationele armoede brengt ze een humoristisch verhaal dat de hoop laat zegevieren. Of de naïeve tekenstijl die deze wereld opmaakt ook iets zegt over de hoop die de figuren erin voortdrijft is aan de lezer om zelf te beslissen.

Voor haar tentoonstelling in Greasy Palms Gallery stelt Isha samen met deze strip ook verschillende schilderijen, tekeningen en assemblages tentoon die uit dit verhaal zijn voortgekomen. Vanaf 1 maart is iedereen welkom om zich te laten onderdompelen in een wereld die anders is dan anders.

“An extraordinary: challenge, dialogue and mirror, between a fake bitch and authentic fire, where the artist/designer shows God’s creation in the streets of Antwerp on the one hand, and on the other hand, the holy ‘pussy’/the real work/God’s soul is exhibited in a small sacred space, located in the shadow of Antwerp Cathedral.

I’m God, the father, the master and designer … the painter of the ‘real’ Mother Nature, whether you ‘love’ her heart … or not … 

I created the fire; 

to illuminate you, to purify you, to connect you with your soul …  

Divine fire is sacred, and can only be accused of naivety by those who want to exploit in a snake way ‘an authentic heart/love’ -for personal benefit- in a capitalist dictatorship/hypocritical democracy. 

For that reason i can also turn the ‘fire of love’ into “hellfire”, for those who abuse authenticity to worship money.”

Please, welcome and feel ‘sincerely free’ to enjoy my work … to experience my soul in a visual story.
