December 1777. Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

12,000 American soldiers marched into winter
with no shoes, no coats, and almost no food.

Drop a 🇺🇸 if Valley Forge deserves more respect.

In 1983, one Soviet officer saved the world from nuclear war… by refusing to believe the computer. He died almost unknown in 2017.

This is his story.

Philadelphia, 1776.

56 men gathered in a sweltering room
knowing that if they failed,
every single one of them would hang.

Thomas Jefferson was 33 years old.
He had 17 days to write
the most important document in history.

The youngest signer was 26.
The oldest was 70.

They all signed anyway.

Do you remember the first time you read those words? 🇺🇸

December 16, 1773.
116 men boarded British ships at midnight.

They didn't fire a single shot.
They didn't hurt a single person.

They dumped 342 chests of British tea
into Boston Harbor.

And changed history forever.

Drop a 🍵 if you remember learning this.

For 100 years, doctors and scientists said the human body could not run a mile in under four minutes.

May 6, 1954.
Roger Bannister did it in 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds.

46 days later, someone else did it too.

The barrier was never physical.

March 5, 1770. Five colonists were shot
by British soldiers on a Boston street.

What they taught you in school:
It was a massacre.

What they didn't always teach you:
Paul Revere's famous engraving of the event
was not accurate. It was propaganda.

And it worked. It helped start a revolution.

Do you remember learning about this? 🇺🇸

On the night of April 18, 1775, Paul Revere rode from Boston to warn that British troops were advancing toward Lexington and Concord. He helped alert colonial leaders and local militia. Fighting began the next morning.

April 15th, 1989.
97 people went to a football match.
None of them came home.

For 27 years, the families were told
it was the fans' fault.

For 27 years they carried photographs
of their loved ones to every hearing,
every inquiry, every campaign.

In 2016, the jury ruled all 97 deaths unlawful.
The families had been right all along.

Never forgotten. ❤️
