A Heartfelt Plea
Hope sat alone in a quiet corner, her phone tightly clasped in her hands as she composed a message to Himu. She hesitated, feeling the weight of the words she was about to send. Himu meant more to her than she could ever express, but sometimes it felt like her thoughts and feelings drifted into an empty void. This time, she needed to be honest.
"Maybe my words hurt you," she typed, "and maybe that’s why you feel distant or burdened. If that’s true, I’m genuinely sorry." She took a deep breath, gathering her courage. "You know, all my life, I never found someone I wanted as deeply as I want you. I wish I could be the one to make you happy—forever, not just for a moment."
Hope thought about the trust that had once seemed so unbreakable between them. Misunderstandings and distance had strained it, and she wished they could see each other clearly, even through the chaos. "Please," she continued, "if I frustrate you, let it be me. I’d rather bear your anger than see you unhappy with anyone else."
The message sat unsent for a moment before she pressed send, hoping this time, her words would find their way to his heart. She wished with all her soul that Himu would respond, that they could find a way back to each other, stronger and together for a lifetime.

The Distance Between Us
Hope stood on a quiet road under the warm glow of a late afternoon sun. She was waiting, eyes scanning every person passing by, searching for Himu. This meeting had been planned for days, but as the minutes turned into hours, she began to wonder. Had something come up? Or maybe he had just chosen a different path today?
Himu, meanwhile, was moving through a training course he’d enrolled in, buried in the fast pace and structure of the day. The commitment to his studies had made him lose track of time, and he hadn’t realized how long Hope had been waiting for him. As the day wore on, he knew he wouldn’t be able to meet her as he had promised.
Later that evening, Hope found herself waiting outside the train center where she knew Himu was studying. The lights in the windows shone out into the night, and she watched as people left in groups, laughing, talking, and heading home. Still, Himu did not appear.
Finally, after what felt like hours, she saw him across the road. He was too far to wave at, too far to call out to, but in that single glimpse, they both paused. He saw her waiting for him, her patience, her quiet smile, and for that moment, their worlds met.
Once the crowd between them cleared, Himu took out his phone and dialed Hope’s number. The call connected almost instantly, as if she had been waiting with her phone in hand.
"Hope," he said gently, "I’m so sorry for making you wait."
“It’s alright,” she replied, her voice a mixture of relief and understanding. They didn’t need to say much more; a few words were enough. They were, after all, two people who could understand each other without many words.
That night, as they walked home separately but connected by their voices, they spoke of dreams, plans, and hopes for the future. The distance between them felt smaller with every word, their bond stronger than any road or train station that might separate them.
Their lives moved in different directions for now, but in each small way, they knew they were always close.

A Silence That Spoke
It had been weeks since Himu and Hope had last spoken. The silence was sharp, filling each day with unspoken words and emotions left to simmer. One night, Hope finally gave in to the weight of it all, his fingers hovering over his phone as he dialed Himu's number. The call went directly to voicemail. He tried again, and again, only to find the same message—her phone was off.
Days passed. Hope’s mind was a mess of worry and regret, replaying their last conversation in his head, questioning where things had gone wrong. Then, late one evening, his phone rang. He froze as he saw her name light up the screen. With a shaky breath, he answered.
“Himu?” he said softly, heart pounding.
“Why are you calling me?” Himu’s voice was sharp, carrying an edge he hadn’t heard before. “I don’t want to talk to you, Hope. Can’t you understand that?”
Hope was taken aback but tried to keep his composure. “Himu, I just wanted to see if you were okay. It’s been so long... I couldn’t ignore it anymore.”
Her voice grew colder. “You should have more self-respect,” she said bluntly. “I don’t like boys who keep calling when they’re not wanted. You’re better off without me, Hope.” The words hit him like stones, each one sinking deep.
“Himu, please, if I—” But before he could finish, she cut him off.
“Cut the call, Hope,” she said, her voice carrying an air of finality. And then, with a soft click, the line went dead.
Hope sat in silence, staring at his phone screen, the emptiness of it mocking him. Meanwhile, Himu set her phone down, a pang of regret twisting in her chest. She turned on flight mode, shutting out the world, her heart heavy with the words she’d left unsaid.

A Call in the Shadows
The sun was beginning to set when Himu called Hope, her voice slightly shaky. "I’m dealing with something at home. I’ll call you later," she said. Hope sensed her tension, but before he could ask anything more, she hung up. As he put down his phone, he hoped her problem wasn’t too serious.
Not long after, Hope found himself drawn into a tense family discussion, a storm he hadn't seen coming. Voices rose, memories surfaced, and for a while, Hope was lost in the swirl of family grievances. His mind raced, trying to navigate his own turmoil.
At the same time, Himu was feeling restless. She paced her room, her fingers tracing circles on her phone, needing Hope’s familiar voice, his steady reassurance. She dialed his number, hoping he’d pick up and help ease her worries. But the call went unanswered. She tried again, and again, each time feeling her heart sink a bit more.
Meanwhile, Hope’s phone lay on the living room table, vibrating softly with each missed call. Hope was still deep in conversation, unaware of Himu’s attempts to reach him. The minutes ticked by, each one thickening the air between them with unspoken questions and unresolved tension.
Finally, a silence fell over Hope’s family, a break in the storm. As he looked over, his gaze landed on his phone, now lit up with missed calls. An uneasy feeling crept over him. He dialed Himu back immediately, his heart heavy with worry.
When Himu picked up, her voice was barely above a whisper. “I was just so worried, Hope,” she said. “It felt like you disappeared, like…you were just gone.”
In the quiet that followed, they both realized how easily things could slip away without warning, without explanation. And yet, even through the tension and silence, something bound them together—a quiet understanding, an unspoken promise to stand by each other, even through the shadows.

Himu’s Twilight Ride
It was dusk when Himu met Hope at the edge of the village, where the trees cast long shadows in the fading light. She climbed onto the back of his motorcycle, wrapping her arms around him, feeling the warmth of his back against the cool evening air. The world seemed to hold its breath as they set off, gliding into the purple hues of twilight.
The roads were quiet, lined with trees whose leaves rustled softly in the breeze. As they rode through the evening, the first stars began to prick through the sky. Himu watched the colors shift around them—from amber to pink, then deepening into a rich indigo. She tightened her hold on Hope, feeling a simple joy as they wove through the winding roads together.
They passed fields where fireflies began to dance, their tiny lights glowing in the growing darkness. Hope slowed the motorcycle, letting them drift along more slowly. Himu reached out, catching a firefly in her hand for a moment before letting it go, watching it disappear into the night. Beside her, she could feel Hope smile, his hand resting briefly on hers as they continued.
Eventually, they came to a quiet hilltop, overlooking the village below. Under the darkening sky, the distant lights flickered like stars. Hope turned off the motorcycle, and together they sat on the grassy hillside, looking out at the vastness above and below. The night wrapped around them, and they didn’t need to say anything—Himu knew that this simple, perfect moment said everything.
As the stars filled the sky, Himu realized that some moments are like starlight—small, silent, and unforgettable, much like the feeling of being here, with Hope, under the endless sky.

Himu’s Starlit Encounter
One Quiet Evening, Himu Wandered To The Riverbank Just Outside The Village. The Stars Above Mirrored On The Water, Casting A Shimmering Glow That Made Everything Feel Enchanted. She Sat Alone, Lost In Thought, Until She Heard Footsteps Approaching. She Looked Up And Saw Hope, A Quiet Boy From Her Village, Standing Nearby.
“You Always Come Here Alone?” He Asked, Sitting Beside Her.
Himu Smiled. “The Stars Have Their Own Stories, You Know? They Remind Me There’s More To Life Than We See.”
Hope Glanced At Her, His Eyes Reflecting The Same Stars. “Maybe We Don’t Have To See Everything. Some Things Are Just… Felt.”
They Sat In Silence, Watching The Stars, Feeling The Closeness Of Each Other’s Presence. In That Quiet Moment, Himu Felt Her Heart Warm With A Feeling Both Familiar And New, As If All The Stars Had Gathered Just To Shine A Little Brighter For Them.
And As The Night Deepened, Himu Knew Her Heart Had Found A Place To Call Home.
