It was an wonderful evening yesterday @ Goethe-Institut Bangladesh. The closing ceremony of the exhibition 'Layers of Dhanmondi Lake' is where we gathered with our words and tunes. We were surrounded by the works of the participants and at the heart of it was the audience. It was a great experience for us to perform in front of you all, to share our goppo.

From rivers to lakes maybe all of us are going through the same realizations, sharing the same frustrations and trying to work for pretty similar reasons. We believe our mediums are different but not our fights. And whatever we do here at goppo, we do it for the people.

Thanks to all for coming, all those who makes 'us'! Specially thanks to Nujhat apu, Ayaz, Izaz, Asif bhai and goethe Uncle for trying their best to fix the sound! It's okay, the noise won't leave us that easily!

For those who came yesterday, hope you didn’t have a bad time. For those who couldn’t make it this time; don't worry, you'll get more of us. Just don't come at us asking for proper recordings of our songs! We'll be there, soon.

As we believe in growing slower, but together.

🌿Closing Ceremony | Layers of Dhanmondi Lake

We warmly invite you to join us tomorrow, 30 January, for the closing ceremony of the Layers of Dhanmondi Lake exhibition

🕓 3:00 PM gates open
🕓 4:00 PM onwards: Film screenings and soundscape
🕕 6:00–7:30 PM: Musical performance by Goppo Theatre

Goppo Theatre is an audio-visual production house formed by independent artists, musicians, and filmmakers. Rooted in the soil and rivers of their mofossholi upbringing, they challenge the dominant production patterns of the capital, shaping new practices that nurture original visions and lived experiences.

Join us as we gather one last time to listen, reflect, and celebrate the many layers of the lake through moving images, sound, and live performance.

This exhibition is open to all!
