​মুছে যাক গ্লানি, ধুয়ে যাক ধুলো,
আকাশে মেলুক ডানা রঙিন তুলো।
নতুন বছর এলো বৈশাখী সাজে,
আনন্দেরই ডঙ্কা সবার মনে বাজে।
​পহেলা বৈশাখ— সে যে নতুন এক দিন,
পুরানো যত শোক, হোক আজ লীন।
অতীতের মলিনতা ভুলে গিয়ে আজ,
নববর্ষে হবে নতুন সব কাজ।
​হালখাতা, মেলা আর হরেক রকম মজা,
মিষ্টির থালা ভরা কদমা ও খাজা।
ঝড়-বাদলের ভয় হবে আজ দূর,
চারিদিকে বাজে শুধু মিলনের সুর।
​ভোরবেলা চটপট সেরে নিয়ে স্নান,
শোভাযাত্রার পথে গেয়ে উঠি গান।
সারাদিন হুল্লোড়, আড্ডা ও হাসি,
নবীন এ দিনটারে বড় ভালোবাসি।
​অন্যায় ঝেড়ে ফেলে হবো একজোট,
মনে মনে আজ হোক শপথের চোট—
সব কালো মুছে দিয়ে আগামীর তরে,
সুখ আর হাসি যেন রয় ঘরে ঘরে।
