🩺 Mastering Breech Deliveries: The Burns-Marshall Maneuver 👶
​Breech presentations require specialized skills, patience, and calm precision. The Burns-Marshall maneuver is a classic obstetric technique used to assist with the safe delivery of the fetal head during a vaginal breech birth.

1️⃣ Controlled Traction: Steady, gentle guidance.
2️⃣ Fetal Body Delivery: Allowing gravity to assist until the umbilicus is visible.
3️⃣ Head and Jaw Support: Crucial positioning to flex the chin to the chest.
4️⃣ Upward Arc and Birth: Sweeping the baby’s body in an upward arc over the mother's abdomen to follow the natural curve of the birth canal.
​💡 Clinical Pearl: The key to this maneuver is minimizing handling of the fetal body to prevent reflex extension of the arms or head, and waiting until the nape of the neck is visible at the perineum before initiating the upward arc.
