I used to think my rabbit liked being held until I learned how they actually feel about it... !!!

When I first started caring for rabbits, I couldn’t help myself.
They’re so soft, so tiny so unbelievably adorable , all I wanted to do was pick them up and hold them close and sometimes, they would just stay there quietly in my arms. I thought that meant they liked it. But over time, I learned something that changed the way I interact with them completely. Most rabbits don’t actually enjoy being picked up. Not because they don’t love you but because of instinct. Rabbits are prey animals. Being lifted off the ground can feel, to them like being caught by a predator.
So instead of comfort, they often feel fear even if they stay still. That stillness? It’s not always relaxation. Sometimes, it’s just them freezing. When I realized this I felt a little guilty. Now, I do things differently. I sit on the floor. I let them come to me. I gently pet them when they’re relaxed and comfortable in their own space and something beautiful happened. They started trusting me more. They follow me around. They rest beside me.Sometimes, they even nudge my hand asking for attention. It turns out, love for a rabbit isn’t about holding them tight.
It’s about making them feel safe enough to come close on their own.

Do your rabbits like being held or do they prefer staying on the ground?I’d love to know how they show you trust 💬 🐇

I didn’t realize how quiet rabbits are…
until mine tried to tell me something was wrong 🐇💔
One of the things that makes rabbits so peaceful to have around is how quiet they are.
No barking. No loud meowing. Just soft little movements, gentle chewing and the occasional curious hop.
But what I didn’t understand in the beginning is this,
Rabbits are quie even when they’re not okay. They don’t cry out when they’re in pain. They don’t make obvious sounds when something feels wrong.
And because of that, it’s so easy to miss the signs.
I remember a moment when one of my rabbits seemed just a little “ off “ Nothing dramatic just eating a bit less, sitting a bit differently, not as playful as usual.
At first, I thought maybe it was just a slow day.
But rabbits don’t really have “off days” like we do.
That small change? It was their way of communicating.
Over time, I’ve learned to notice the quiet signals

• Eating less than usual
• Smaller or fewer droppings
• Sitting hunched or staying in one spot
• Losing interest in things they normally enjoy

These little things matter more than we think. Because with rabbits, by the time the signs are obvious it can already be serious. Now I pay attention to the smallest changes. The quiet ones. Because loving a rabbit means learning to listen even when they don’t make a sound. 🐇
Have you ever noticed a small change in your pet that turned out to be important? I’d really love to hear your story.....

I used to think I was doing the right thing… until I learned this about carrots 🥕🐇

When I first got into rabbits, I genuinely believed carrots were their favorite and honestly, the healthiest thing I could give them.
I mean… every cartoon shows a bunny happily munching on a carrot, right?
So I did the same. But then one day, while reading more about rabbit care (and after a gentle reminder from a vet), I realized something that completely changed how I feed them…
Carrots aren’t actually a staple food for rabbits. They’re more like a sweet treat.
That surprised me too. Carrots contain quite a bit of natural sugar and while a small piece every now and then is perfectly fine, giving them too often can quietly affect a rabbit’s health especially their sensitive digestive system.
What rabbits really need and what I wish I had focused on from the beginning is hay.
Lots and lots of hay.
Now, when I watch a rabbit happily sitting and chewing on fresh hay, I know that’s what true care looks like. It’s not as cute as a bright orange carrot but it’s exactly what keeps them healthy, active and comfortable.
So yes… carrots are still on the menu in my home !just in small, occasional moments.
And honestly, learning this made me feel like I finally started caring for them the right way.
Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference. 🌿🐇

Ever seen a rabbit suddenly jump, twist mid air and land like nothing happened !?

That’s called a "binky" and it’s one of the clearest signs your rabbit is truly happy.
A binky is when a rabbit leaps into the air, kicks its legs and sometimes even twists its body mid jump. It may look chaotic but to rabbit owners, it’s pure joy in motion.
Wild rabbits use this movement to release energy and signal safety in their environment. In domestic rabbits, it means
they feel safe, they’re comfortable with you, their environment is stress-free
In fact, many experienced rabbit owners say:
“A rabbit that binkies is a rabbit that trusts you.”
Young rabbits tend to binky more often but even older rabbits will do it when they’re especially excited like during playtime or after getting their favorite greens. If your rabbit never binkies, it doesn’t always mean something is wrong but it can be a sign they need:
• More space to run
• Better enrichment (toys, tunnels)
• More interaction and bonding time

In the US, indoor free roam rabbit setups are becoming more popular and guess what?
These rabbits binky way more often than caged ones. Because happiness needs space. So, next time you see your rabbit jump like it just hit a glitch in the matrix…..
Don’t worry !

That’s not a bug.
That’s joy. 🐇✨

The Rabbit That Wears Eyeliner! 🐇
Did you know the Dwarf Hotot rabbit looks like it applied eyeliner this morning?
This tiny breed weighs only 2–3 pounds small enough to fit in your palm! But what makes it truly unforgettable is its pure snow white fur with a narrow dark band perfectly circling each eye. Breeders call this the "eye band" and the thinner and sharper it is, the more valuable the rabbit!

Originally developed in Germany and France in the 1970s, the Dwarf Hotot was created by crossing full sized Hotot rabbits with smaller breeds to achieve that compact, adorable size. It arrived in the United States in 1981 and was officially recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) shortly after.
Despite looking like a delicate porcelain toy, Dwarf Hotots have surprisingly bold personalities. They are curious, energetic and absolutely love human attention. They adapt perfectly to apartment living and are considered one of the best beginner pet rabbits in America.
Their diet is simple hay, fresh greens and pellets and they live up to 7–10 years with proper care.
In the rabbit show world, they are proudly nicknamed
"Eyes of the Fancy" 🖤🤍
