Entitled Homeowners Reject Buyer’s Offer, Pray For A Better One, Guess Who Buys Their House At Auction?

Years ago we decided to move closer to my parents. The housing choices were slim but we found a dilapidated house close by. It looked like it needed lots of work and seemed over priced for the area (say 200k). We organised a viewing to decide on it and brought my very practical dad with us for a second opinion. The viewing was conducted by the owners and from the very beginning, they were... ‘off’. They’d never sold a house before, we were the first people to view it and they actually said to us during the viewing they were doing us a favour for offering us their (hoarder’s paradise) house at such a great price. We told them we wanted to move closer to my parents and I think they assumed we were desperate. We got home, had a think and the next day offered the agent a price below the asking price which we believed to be suitable for it’s condition. Hours later the agent calls back and says that ‘the owners are going to pray on it for a week’ then give us a answer. (FYI- this timespan is unheard of in my country. An answer is usually given in a day). A week later they decline our offer. We offered the agent another 2k. The agent calls back and apologetically tells us the sellers refuse to give us an answer yet because a) they haven’t even started looking for a house yet and b) the owners believe they can sell it for more than the asking price now.... so they will get back us when they were ready and we’d have to wait. We rescinded our offer. A month later we find a house in the same area with a lot less work needed and at only 180k. Our offer (through the same agent) was accepted and we moved in 4 months later. During this time the agent calls us and says the entitled sellers have found a house now and would like to offer us their house at the original asking price. We declined. I...

She Stole Disabled Parking At Target - What Happened Next Left Everyone Cheering

I have a disabled parking placard, and a few weeks ago I went to Target to buy things I didn't need and forget the things I did. Not only were all the spaces taken, someone parked their gigantic Escalade on the line between two disabled spaces, taking up both. Wholly irritated because this happens SO MUCH, I walked around the car—no placard or disabled plate. Cue the fury of a someone who has to deal with this stuff *all the time*, and cue petty revenge. I took a pic and went inside to find a manager. When I found one, I showed her the photo and she rolled her eyes and sighed. Apparently this happens a lot at their location, because it's near an affluent town with a LOT of very wealthy, very entitled people, and most often it's the owners of huge SUVs and F-150s that park like jerks. She said she'd call the cops, so I decided to go back outside and hang out by the doors to watch the show. The manager joined me and we chatted while we waited for the police. The cops arrived and walked around the car, peering through the windows and running the plate. One cop took out a little book and started writing in it. They took some photos and one came over and asked if they'd make an announcement in the store to get the driver outside. The manager radioed someone inside and asked them to announce the make and model and plate of the car over the PA system. A few minutes later, *she* came charging out of the store. Middle-aged, well-dressed woman, the Common Karen of North America, and already yelling at the police. As soon as she got to her car one of the cops held up his hand to shut her up and started lecturing her. I was too far away to hear, but she stopped yelling at least. That cop spoke to her for a few minutes, and then the other cop with the little book handed her but two papers. She looked absolutely apoplectic....

Woman Parked In His Driveway Without Permission, So He Blocked Her In And Went On A Weekend Bender

Friday night I came home from work to find someone on our block was having a large party and someone decided they were entitled to park in my driveway.

Keep in mind my driveway is a single car width lined with a retaining wall on both sides and a garage at the end. Essentially impossible for a tow truck to come pull them out without property damage.

Seeing this and the lack of street parking I took this as a cue to park right behind them in my driveway. Now a few hours go by and their entitled parker is now knocking at my door demanding I move my car so she can leave. Seeing as they were demanding, I informed them that I had been drinking and would not move my car.

The Entitled Parker then decides to call the police to get them to force me to move. When the police knocked on my door, I was sure to grab a beer from the fridge before I answered to talk to the officer.

I had informed him that after I got home I was unwinding and had been drinking and was in no shape to drive. At this point their hands were tied because they couldn’t tow her car out, I’m in no shape to drive, and I’m legally parked in my driveway.

I ended up telling the Entitled Parker that since it is a long weekend I would be on a weekend long bender and they could come move my car after I go to work on Tuesday.

Teacher Confiscates “Phone,” Student Hands Over Life-Saving Device

Excuse any errors, it's my first time posting.

I'm a Type 1 diabetic, and I have an insulin pump. When I was in 6th grade my pump was wired, ie it had a tube that went from the pump, which looked a bit like a cell phone, to me. So, I have to take insulin after I eat and I had pretty explicitly told all of my teachers that I was diabetic, but this teacher was a bit thick and a stickler for the rules.

My class had just gotten back to class after lunch and we were reading a book out loud. My pump beeped to remind me to take insulin after lunch, and I noticed Teacher give me a bit of a dirty look, but I ignored it and whipped out my pump to deliver insulin.

Teacher: /u/ludwig19 stop texting in class! You know the rules. Please bring your "phone" to the front and report to detention (my middle school had a very strict no cell phones policy).

I was about to protest, but realized this would be an excellent opportunity for some MC.

So, with a smug grin on my face, I walk up to the teacher with my pump in my hand, and it still LITERALLY attached to me, I hand her my pump.

Teacher: what's this cord? Why do you have a chain for your cell phone.

Me (deadpan stare): I'm a diabetic, and this is my insulin pump.

At this point, her face goes sheet white, and I unclip my pump from my body (a bit of a maneuver because it was on my arm and slightly difficult to reach) and walk out of the class before she can say anything and go directly to detention. When I arrive I tell the detention officer I was sent for using electronics in class. Before I even finish, a student from my class walks in and says I can come back to class, and the teacher apologies profusely and never messes with me for beeping or using any...

Boss Fired Manager And Told Him To Take All His Belongings, Didn’t Realize How Much He’d Brought

I worked for a multinational company 10 years ago, as the regional management running a 2-way radio repair shop, on the customer's main site. 6 direct report techs, and an admin assistant.

The techs rotated but the admin assistant and I were there every day. Because I worked 205-250hrs every month in that office, for 160hrs of salary, I had a few things there as you can imagine.

2.5yrs into working there, I had annoyed my boss and lost the company lotto, so I was 1 of 4 people he downsized that year. I expected it months earlier when he let the first one go, but wasn't going to work worrying about it.

One Monday my fresh tech was late and not answering his phone... and comes in 90min late with my boss and HR in the vehicle. Guess today's the day.

As part of the exit interview, they get to "all personal property"... oh boy, time for some fun. Most people have 1 box, I ended up with 5. Coffee pot, toaster oven, microwave, my coveralls and boots (they tried to keep those, but I never submitted a bill)... oh, and my shelf of notebooks (nothing was ever filed physically in my desk)... my toolbox of electronics tools, soldering iron...

By the time I was done boxing my stuff up, there was 2 well equipped desks (of 4), no microwave, a 40 cup coffee pot, and no usb-serial cable to connect to the battery conditioner.

Found out from my admin assistant that my boss had to spend just shy of a grand to re-outfit the shop that week, before going home.

TL:DR Boss failed to realize how much I had brought to outfit a shop that I spent 50-60hrs a week at, had to buy it all himself before he left the site because the techs were pi**ed off.
