BRAC University Multicultural Club presents "Roots and Rhythms" to celebrate International Day of World's Indigenous People.

What do you think how much pride and honor does the word "indigenous" account for? The chittagong hill tracts carries 11 indigenous communities mainly and their diversity is what makes the country rich in culture, tradition and sets an example of social cohesion. The indigenous communities inherit their own language, culinary culture and traditional attire; making them stand out from among all the other living beings in bangladesh.

Apart from that different parts and regions of different country in the world holds their own indigenous communities identity making their countries tradition worth exploring for.

With these amazing diversified communities we can acknowledge how spontaneous every culture could be.

To celebrate it we came forward with "Roots and Rhythms" theme, following through culture, rejoicing the day. Did you enjoy the event?

Our sweet and talented President Zehra Sania. BUMC family is proud of you ✨.

Across Borders, Into Her Own Story 🌍

Today we're going to tell the story of Zehra Sania.

From Pakistan to Bangladesh, and eventually all the way to the United States, her university journey has been about much more than crossing borders.

When she first arrived at BRAC University as an international student, she was quiet and reserved—more comfortable listening than speaking, still trying to find her place in a completely new country. She probably never imagined that the decision to study abroad would eventually take her across another continent.

Over time, BRACU became a place where she slowly stepped beyond that comfort zone. She discovered her passion for Biotechnology and research, became involved in student activities, built meaningful friendships, and gradually found the confidence to take on bigger challenges.

One of the most memorable chapters came in November 2025, when she travelled to St. Louis, Missouri, USA, after being selected for the High Performance Computing (HPC) program at SC25, an international high-performance computing conference. For someone who had already crossed one border to pursue her education, becoming part of another international community thousands of miles away felt like another reminder of how far her journey had taken her.

Today, she serves as the President of the BRAC University Multicultural Club (BUMC), working with her team to create a space where students from different cultures and backgrounds can connect, celebrate their identities, and feel that they belong.

Perhaps the biggest transformation, however, is not measured by the countries she has travelled to or the positions she has held. It is seeing the once-shy student gradually become someone who can lead a team, organize meaningful initiatives, stand confidently in front of people, and represent herself on international platforms.

From Pakistan to Bangladesh, and Bangladesh to the United States, every new place has helped her discover a little more of herself—and her story is still being written. 🌏✨

Let us show you

Today is the auspicious birth anniversary of the supreme yogi, Lord Krishna, the one who destroyed unrighteousness and re-established religion, who reminded Arjuna, who was distracted from his duty in the Battle of Kurukshetra, who, even in modern times, has captivated philosophers, scientists, and politicians with his guidance in Bhagavad Gita.

yatra yogeçvaraù krsno
yatra pärtho dhanur-dharaù
tatra çrér vijayo bhütir
dhruvä nétir matir mama (Chapter 18, Verse 78, Srimad Bhagavad Gita)

Meaning wherever there is Krishna, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is
Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory,
extraordinary power and morality. That is my opinion.

BRAC University Multicultural Club wishes you Happy Krishna Janmashtami. May the teachings of Krishna lead this world to harmony, knowledge, and love.

Behind every successful event there are people who have worked relentlessly, often behind the scenes to make it happen.

Some players set records, Lionel Messi set a new benchmark for what humans can achieve on a pitch.

The football world came to a standstill on August 31st, when Leo Messi announced his retirement from international football.

His CV with Argentina is like a fairy tale: 2022 FIFA World Cup Champion, 2021 & 2024 Copa América Champion, 2022 Finalissima Winner, 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, 125 goals scored (All-Time Record), 176 Goals in the Albiceleste colours, 8 Ballon d’Or awards.

These mammoth figures were followed by a leader who for 20 years carried the aspirations of a whole nation. He never wavered from his quest for his people, even in heart wrenching finals, he faced the harshest criticism, and this summer he lost his own father, but he never gave up until he won all the major trophies.

He'll keep playing his football, but Messi's time in that Argentina jersey – here to stay in the history books. Thank you for the magical, dignified and legacy that will endure past us all.

Happy World Letter Writing Day!!

September 1st is about writing handwritten messeges in letters and sharing a feeling that connects our emotions.

Either we live far away or close enough in this fast paced digital text era; letters are sweet, thoughtful and carry deep meaning with efforts about how much we prioritise them.

Handwritten Letter is a gesture of love. The non curated words that we just burst out of our heart ; put into pen and paper. The excitement of opening a letter, that unstoppable thrill and somehow keeping the pile of letters just to take a toll down the memory lane is what actually "Writing a Letter" meant.

So why don't we take a pen and paper and leave a letter, whoever comes to your mind reading this, reliving the excitement, igniting long lost tradition once again!!!
