“Bones of Water” metal,250x200x65. 2025
This work is not merely fish skeletons made of metal — it is the physical form of the structure, memory, and recollections of water itself. The bones of water represent the skeletal structure of oceans, seas, and rivers that carry within them the history and life of all living beings.
Story of the installation:
Bones of Water tells a delicate yet powerful story. It reminds us of the memory of the sea.
The large fish in the work embodies the mother spirit of the seas. Its metallic skeleton reflects the ancientness and wisdom of the ocean. The smaller fish around and within it are the living beings that inhabit this spirit’s memory. They seem frozen in a single moment of time, their movements halted as if in an eternal dance. These fish symbolize not only the life of living creatures, but also the way the waters themselves live, flow, and transform.

The base on which the work stands resembles the dried seabed or the withered bed of a river. It compels us to reflect: What will we leave behind as our legacy? Will our seas remain alive, breathing beings — or will only such cold, metallic “bones” remain of them?
