Dear lovely people, friends, comrades
We are sad to say that we are not going ahead with Jamboree Creative Escape in 2020.
Oh! Cry a few tears, we have.
We just so much wanted to give this experience to you, and honestly were beyond excited about the program we had cooked up, with beautiful printing classes with Burning Palms Gallery, traditional weaving with Linda Kennedy, Second Life Sewing from Annie Autumn Farm, Creative Writing with Helena Fox, an evening gig with Holly Throsby, flowering edibles with A Garden for Life, Dance with Emma Saunders and lots more.
But. Well. Clearly, there have been a few hurdles, shall we say.
While it may be the case that gathering restrictions will have lifted by October that would technically allow the event to proceed, there is something else we are noticing in the collective energy and we feel it's important to take notice of.
And that is, that people are feeling nervous about gathering in such ways. It's a bit too tricky to know, just how everyone will be feeling in October.
We have also lost some critical time for planning, promoting and getting this event ready. It's just one weekend, but we work all year round on it!
It's a big, epic, beautiful thing to pull off, and our little team has been busy behind-the-scenes on creating our mental health program, MakeShift: Creativity on Prescription, online.
We will be programming some pretty sweet creative workshops and some all day experiences for later in the year, so we will definitely keep you in the loop about them.
Thanks for your understanding! We hope you can all find lots of ways to play, gather safely and celebrate in forests, and around a campfire, as we travel our way out of these restrictions.
Stay safe, stay well. See you round
Love the Jamboree Team x
